The debt passed $39 trillion today.

When all of the pro-war, regime sycophants are saying the same thing, and have no concrete allegations outside an anonymous "senior admin official," a savvy observer would see the smear campaign for what it is.

My highest admiration for @joekent16jan19 on his action to resign today. I had the pleasure of meeting Joe when I was within days of working alongside him in the ODNI last year, and his action today shows a level of principle and moral courage unlike anything seen in Washington, DC in my living memory.
To resign on principle is hard enough. To also bluntly state why - that the President of the United States was deceived into a war against Iran that was unjust and unnecessary - puts him in a new category.
May others follow his courageous lead...

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

🚨 BREAKING: National Counterterrorism Center director resigns, says U.S. war on Iran driven by Israeli pressure
Joseph Kent, director of the National Counterterrorism Center, said he is resigning effective immediately, citing opposition to the war in Iran.
🔸 In a resignation letter addressed to President Donald Trump, Kent wrote: “Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.”
🔸 He accused Israeli officials and U.S. media figures of pushing a “misinformation campaign” that led Washington to believe Iran posed an imminent threat.
🔸 Kent warned the U.S. is repeating the path to the Iraq War, calling the justification for conflict with Iran “a lie.”
🔸 A combat veteran, Kent said he could not support sending Americans to fight in a war that “serves no benefit to the American people.”
