@DrFrankTurek He does. We choose to sin. By withholding saving grace from some ppl, God isn’t unjust for allowing ppl to continue doing the things that they really want to do. Rebellion has always been our choice. Grace has always been at His discretion and will.

@slumbles @GryphiusEitel @BrysonGray Meaning, faith doesn’t save, but it is an indication of saving fath because if you claim to be saved, but good works don’t follow, then that faith is dead. Meaning you don’t have it. Another way of saying that you will know a tree by its fruits.

@DominusAD78 @rockreborn22 @BrysonGray The text also doesn’t mention the trinity, but God clearly revealed Himself as 3 distinct, co eternal, persons as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Exegesis. Just because it doesn’t state plainly something, that didn’t mean that the scriptures doesn’t teach it within the scriptures.

A person is not justified before God by faith alone. That’s according to James in the only verse out of 31,000 verses in Bible that actually says the phrase “faith alone”.

@BrysonGray James never said that. What he is saying is that if you have real saving faith, your good works will confirm it. The works can’t save you, but the absence of them indicates that you probably aren’t saved.

So if Jesus is the focus why do Christians spend so much energy condemning things that aren’t the focus. Jesus didn’t judge but I see so many Christians full of so much judgement. Doesn’t track for me.

@QuincyAvery The MOST IMPORTANT thing in the Bible is Jesus. Period. The whole Bible is the story of Jesus. That’s the starting point and the proper context. The Old Testament is the story of why Jesus is and always was necessary.
