@orsonscottcard Will have to look for this. I thought the series was long-finished and it was an interesting take on magic/alternate history.

Ender’s Game is what I’m known for, and gratefully so. But it may be The Tales of Alvin Maker through which, if you tell me you’ve read them, I feel most known. Master Alvin, the final book of the series, will be out this Tuesday, April 28. Thank you to those who’ve patiently waited, and those who have eagerly prodded… and all who’ve taken these stories to heart and made them finer for being there. Preorder on Amazon: a.co/d/0iRYBxJ1 Preorder on Barnes and Noble: barnesandnoble.com/w/master-alvin… Preorder on IndieBound (bookshop.org): bookshop.org/p/books/master…

SHOCKING: 14-year-old black kid STOMPS 15-year-old white girls HEAD INTO THE CONCRETE for saying NO to his phone number! And NYC's WOKE family court will likely just give him a tap on the wrist! Listen up, America. This is what Democrat-run cities create: fatherless savages with zero consequences. A 14-year-old thug in East Harlem demands a 15-year-old white girl’s phone number, then slams her to the ground and stomps her HEAD when she says no. She’s concussed in the hospital. He heads to family court for a likely slap on the wrist. This isn’t kids being kids, it’s feral violence enabled by soft-on-crime policies that protect the predator, not the victim. Lock these animals up. Stop the coddling. Enough. Patriots, what are we doing about this?

@JamesGunn @hbomax Only one can wear the ring? How many human Lanterns are there right now again? I've lost track. (I _like_ GL, but earth does seem to have a disproportionate allotment of GLs)

@ZubyMusic The thing is - those people have no problem with _other_ countries having border policy and enforcing it. They just don't want the USA to do it.... :(

It takes incredible propaganda to convince a population that enforcing border policy is 'racist' or 'cruel'. There's basically no country on Earth where you can just waltz in unannounced and stay there indefinitely.

@ChrisMartzWX I know too many who _do_ eat lunch that early. I'm a later lunch eater, but people who start early do get stuff that's not traditional breakfast at those times. Of course, it's still kind of odd for a diner to cut off breakfast, but - limited space/people/time....

I love my local diner, but they stop serving breakfast at 10:30, which is the dumbest crap I have ever heard of. Who eats lunch at 10:30 A.M.?

There were no kids in Somali daycares. There were no dying patients in LA hospices. There were no Nazis or Klansmen at Trump rallies. There was no Sesame Street in Iraq. There was no winery belonging to Ilhan Omar. There is no climax crisis. All Democrat scams.

@MaryBowdenMD @Safe_Blood3 Crazy how they'd do this for AIDS but not for mRNA injections. And then they wonder why trust in "health" providers is tanking. :( At least we sort of have options to bank our own blood if we know we'll need it...

The whining from Republicans here is just preposterous. Democrats remain willing to prohibit gerrymandering nationally. Republicans thought they were better off fighting this battle state-by-state and are sore that that wasn't true.

Remember when the documentary, 2,000 Mules came out? It graphically exposed how "mules" travelled from NGO's to remote vote drop boxes to deposit stacks of "votes". It was instantly "debunked". By who? The legacy media. That's a joke. The FBI and DOJ? That's even more of a joke. The Democrat Party? They did the rigging. The makers of the documentary used cell phone tracking to track the mules. "Experts" told us that that wasn't reliable. It was reliable enough to track January 6 peaceful protesters across the country and sentence them to lengthy prison terms. Then we saw the government video surveillance cameras showing the mules in action. We were told not to believe our lying eyes. The stolen 2020 election was yet another "op" ran on the American people

Someone inside Kaiser sent me the below internal guidance concerning shots and medications for newborns. It tells Kaiser employees that the "approach to how we introduce and administer routine newborn ... Hepatitis B vaccine" is to " avoid saying ‘it’s optional’ or ‘you can refuse’ unless directly asked” and to tell parents that "we will be giving" instead of asking consent to give. This is the antithesis of informed consent. Yet Kaiser calls it “excellent patient and family care.”

@jondelarroz Crazy, especially for those who would prefer some omnibus compilation of stories to read over many, many smaller books. I think the GI Joe / Transformers compilations have been doing well on crowd-funding.

Marvel just fired David Gabriel, the guy who literally invented their Omnibus business and kept the lights on while editorial was busy replacing Thor with a woman and Captain America with Sam Wilson. They released 89 omnibuses in 2024 alone. The man built a revenue engine out of classic storytelling that readers actually wanted. Disney's month-old CEO didn't know what he had. Nobody in that building does anymore. The editors who tanked the monthly titles are still employed. The man who made Marvel profitable through collected editions of good comics is gone. This is what corporate capture looks like when the last competent person finally runs out of runway. Who do you think fills that seat?

RFK Jr. breaks down to Bernie Sanders how vaccines are not the only thing that brought infant mortality down in the U.S. “The study you cited is a modeling study.” “CDC has actually done a real study… it says that almost none of it was attributable to vaccination.” “It was attributable to hygiene, sewer plants, better water supplies, and engineering.” “That’s not my view, that’s the CDC’s view.”

@DiceAndNames I might consider El Grande or Ethnos, but I've had little trouble explaining Small World to people. "Decline" takes a little more, but most newbies welcome some hints/coaching and maybe take a weak/small race so you can illustrate the concept first.

VIRGINIA OK, I am trying to organize my thoughts about yesterday's vote in Virginia. Here is my analysis from my capturing of the election night reporting data. There was an "f-curve" at 8:59pm that was actually preceded by a near f-curve at 8:43. These 2 updates wiped away what had been a decent lead for "no redistricting". Interestingly, at 9:16 there was another big jump for "yes". From my analysis, most of the votes from all 3 of these came from Fairfax County, one of Virginia's most reliable vote manufacturing hubs. My old pet peeve, totals going down rather than up, was way too frequent. 23 counties had at least one case of "negative votes", including Chesterfield's whopping 71,903 deduction at 10:45 this morning (April 22). Augusta had a 11,968 deduction at 10:18. A whopping 13 counties had deductions in the SAME REPORT at 7:41PM on the 21st (for a total of 18,476). This is not acceptable and needs explained. (Other than, "well these numbers aren't official". They are official enough to show on the news.) And, of course, the referendum was ultimately lost because of mail-in votes. About 10% of the total was mail-in, and about 73% were "yes". We have no way of knowing how many of these were real people casting a vote for themselves, but they added net 137,000 votes for "yes" and that is almost 50,000 more than the currently reported winning margin for "yes". (The same applies for the election of Commissar Spanberger) In summary, a completely preventable train wreck. I hope that the Republican leaders in Virginia are now convinced that mail-in ballots and machine counting are not our friends. I also hope they start asking the hard questions of counties like Chesterfield. It's going to be easiest to read this, shrug, and move on. Please don't. Please forward on, especially if you know people in Virginia. But the same thing will happen in every other state, eventually, if its not stopped. You can see the raw data for yesterday's election at votedatabase.com/2026 - select Virginia, unknown party, then statewide or whatever county you want to examine. I'm here if anyone has questions.

@FSociety_1942 That's ... unpossible ... I mean - we'd _never_ see huge vertical spikes straight up in number of "votes" counted in such a short timeframe. Unprecedented, even! </s>
