Cc @bcherny that behavior of Claude code freaked me out the most.
What do commit messages have to deal with my account consumption? What other rules are there?
English

@AnthropicAI @incredibleboris I don't understand your product decisions. Why is Claude burning my credits based on the commit message?

English

@jlongster There will be some people, e.g. who are paralyzed and who want to press red, but they can't.
English

@NivAvraham3 @elaphevulpina @wybeka @MrBeast I've been thinking about this TE last two days and my conclusion is that it really does come down to these two things: humanity va survival.
English

@elaphevulpina @rubywwwilde @wybeka @MrBeast Oh I didn't even notice, you can't edit old posts as far as I'm concerned.
But judging rationality based on language knowledge is unwise, although it aligns with your red button rational.
I'll repeat as you didn't understand, I value humanity, you value survival.
English

@aliceisplaying you can also ask Claude to do inline <thinking> when they want to. I appreciate it a lot.
English

@Heladesor @420groyp @MrBeast This would make the vote much less problematic. Like "would you wanna die for other people that are willing to bet their life on people who wanna die for other..."
English

@rubywwwilde @420groyp @MrBeast This is the only reasonable argument for pressing blue, but is predicated on an assumption that does not logically follow.
I can more plausibly assume that dependents (kids and vegetables) would automatically cast the same vote as their caretaker.
English

@watashinekokaze @wybeka @MrBeast > Well it basically is betting your life on whether or not everyone else conforms. A risky game.
Yes, it is. I mean wasn't it obvious from that start?
A lot of people are willing to bet their life to save other innocent people. Does it come as a surprise to you?
English

@MannyDonuts @420groyp @MrBeast If the argument is bad, you can just point to why you think it is bad, rather than insult someone.
Have a good day🙏
English

@DisaffectedJoy @420groyp @MrBeast > Everyone on earth
Logically everyone means every human being. Assuming it means otherwise is a speculation, not logic.
And I apologize for making a joke out of it, it's not appropriate. I should stop engaging with this topic from now on.
I'm on my way to caress some grass.
English

@rubywwwilde @420groyp @MrBeast You’re assuming kids are involved. Ya it says everyone but it still doesn’t specify..but logically something like this would have an age cut off line. 4 year olds will struggle with concept. No vote for them.
English

@DisaffectedJoy @420groyp @MrBeast ookay. leets' go.
Just imagine
1/ A four-year-old pressed blue because the button was prettier.
2/ A man with ALS pressed it with the last muscle that still works.
3/ A nurse pressed it on her break, between two patients she's been keeping alive for weeks!!
what a cruel life!
English

@FCB_Cule1899 @wybeka @MrBeast No, it's not true. Please read again there needs to be more BLUE votes than RED, not the exact same amount.
I do wonder how did you calculate one in a mil probability?
If chance of death is 50%, then chance of saving would be also 1/2, not 1/mil. Do you follow?
English

@rubywwwilde @wybeka @MrBeast The only way your blue press saves them is if the exact same amount of people pressed blue as red. You know the chances of that? You're gonna risk a 50% chance of death for a less than 1 in a million chance of saving people?
English

@schickling What kind of automation was it? Their products also have automations, like "Scheduled" on Claude Cowork.
English

@watashinekokaze @wybeka @MrBeast > wouldn’t change the outcome
First of all, you can't know it for sure, bcs if you knew the outcome for sure, it wouldn't be a dilemma.
And yes, it's a problem.
If sb votes RED, let them say "It's very sad that lot of people are gonna die, but I won't bet my life on the thing"
English

@rubywwwilde @wybeka @MrBeast The problem is though you have a lot of faith in others to push blue, even on this poll it is quite close at 57%
If this were done irl there is a good chance it would be less than 50% and the moralizing would be quite pointless then. Your vote wouldn’t change the outcome
English

@rubywwwilde @Aella_Girl Jesus Christ this website is full of autists
English

Alright I tested this on Glosso, a small social media platform made up of adults with permanent account bans on the line (instead of death). Almost a thousand people voted.
And the result was.... Exactly the same percentages as this poll
Tim Urban@waitbutwhy
Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?
English

@mitchellh @SergiiShymko @mitchellh somehow today Ghostty creates more out of mem in devices. Saw the same with @steipete
English

Ghostty is leaving GitHub. I'm GitHub user 1299, joined Feb 2008. I've visited GitHub almost every single day for over 18 years. It's never been a question for me where I'd put my projects: always GitHub. I'm super sad to say this, but its time to go. mitchellh.com/writing/ghostt…
English

@rainy_sunny @Aella_Girl Notice the Blue button isn't structurally needed. The riddle works as: "press 🔴 and go; if >50% do, the rest die."
Setup shape a lot how you model others. So I feel like you should be left in conflict, and not with certainty that everyone who disagrees is evil or stupid. (3/3)
English

@rainy_sunny @Aella_Girl People say the answer is "obviously" Red. But the riddle is genuinely confusing and many will pick Blue for various reasons. You can press Blue to try to save them.
Red buys you out at the cost of raising everyone else's odds of dying. (2/3)
English

@rubywwwilde @420groyp @MrBeast lol, i have had 4 grandparents and none of them shit in my garden, or scream.
Yet i had 2 little cousins do that. I also never hear grandpas scream their life out in airplanes, yet i have yet to take a single flight without screaming little fuckers pissing me off
