Cancer Research UK is being forced to cut £150m in research and 500 staff because coronavirus has hit the charity’s income hard. The Government is committed to doubling research funding. Meanwhile - those working on #COVID19 #SARSCoV2 *RIGHT NOW* are those LEAST ABLE to write grants! Many of these are working *unfunded* - putting their other work on hold, working without resources - to provide COVID19 research *NOW* 3/n

$2bn is less than £30 per person in the UK, $6 per American, and $1.60 per inhabitant of the ‘high-income countries’—the richest billion or so people in the world. A #coronavirus vaccine would have economic benefits that far outstrip this tiny investment. We need to step up!
