Just an insanely dumb question.

I have an embarrassing affectation left over from childhood where I add a D sound to the end of the word demon. Even though I know it’s not supposed to be there and I am aware of it and wish I didn’t, I catch myself pronouncing it that way still. I wonder if it’s because demon is not the kind of word you need to use very often and so I haven’t really had time to practice saying it properly.
