@SwagnShades @theBPLdotcom Agreed!! Ego wants to swing the longer bat so as to not appear weak in front of teammates. Physics says go with the 32-32.5”

95% of HS players should swing a 32-32.5 inch bat. 99% should swing a 32 until at least their junior year. You can’t really fight me on this because 85-90% are swinging 33”-34”. You’ll never know how much it would’ve helped them catch more barrels.

@lokationnation @SwagnShades For the youth studies we have done it’s seems odd that length can be the most important thing. The CoM locations can move so much that you can get 31’s that are harder to swing than 32’s, and 33’s that are easier to move than 32’s. Was hoping to hear to OP’s info on that.

@SwagnShades Sure, but when the mass and physical properties are so different among models how do you differentiate between a 33” bay that has a center of mass closer to the hands than a 32” bat?

@theBPLdotcom As soon as I trust every in game batted ball data I’ll be able to publish concrete data. But the way it’s measured changes, the tech changes and most youth/hs games don’t have trackman🤣 So posting my data would be disputable based on level, player ability, region, etc

@theBPLdotcom I was physically advanced fr yr of hs, and it felt a little heavy even to me. Working with players for so long, it’s wild how that one simple thing makes such a difference. I train guys w/heavy short bats (even young guys) since I know they’ll probably use a 33. Trying to help.

@theBPLdotcom Take any HS freshman, soph, jr hitter, give them 5 swings off a live pitcher. The top exit velo -might- be a little higher with a 33-34, but the average exit velo will be higher with a 32-32.5. These are principles which every man, of every faith, can embrace.
