@InOrioles Every team uses analytics. Using it isn’t an advantage anymore, but not using it is a disadvantage. Teams have proprietary metrics and care about different things. Like anything, how you use the tool matters.

@BeerAndBirds But not using it is a disadvantage. Also, teams have their own proprietary metrics and care about different things. “Analytics” doesn’t mean they all do the same stuff. (You may know this, but not everyone does)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if everyone is using analytics then it’s no longer an advantage

@BaltimoreFan79 @ByMattWeyrich @jcalvinmeyer Yep. Trying to hit the ball hard, especially pulling it in the air, has the highest xBA and xSLG. Hitters have known this for a while, but I think codifying it with terms like launch angle and exit velocity has turned off fans who don’t like the modern statistical focus in MLB.

Craig Albernaz was asked if the Orioles should try for less hard contact & focus on putting more balls in play. His answer: No, “I think we all know in this game, especially at this level, when you hit the ball soft, it’s probably not going to be a hit.” baltimoresun.com/2026/05/16/ori…

He just pitched 7 innings of 2-hit ball and struck out 10. Give him some elbow discomfort.

@editti22 Love the guy, but he’s never healthy. Can’t count on him next year either. He has 10 months to suffer some other injury.

@zachbollinger18 It’s a waste of time. There’s like a 99% chance he’d need the surgery anyway. Just get it done. Now he’s out until next season, which gives him 10 months to get hurt some other way. Love the guy, but availability matters.

Why are people upset Westburg got the PRP shot in an attempt to try to help the team this year? If he gets the internal brace surgery now he'll be back in 6-9 months (per Dr. Yoni Rosenblatt on the show). They took a chance for 2026 just like fans wanted. I'm okay with it.

He got in the shortest line at the grocery store. Make the old man in front of him need three prices verified and then pay with a check.

Making people wait 4 years for a new season that’ll only have a few episodes is ridiculous. The streaming format has done so much damage to shows. Shows used to push out new seasons EVERY YEAR with 15+ episodes. These companies have billions and could easily resume that format but they just don’t care about their audiences or the quality of their products anymore.

@Chris_Clement21 @RealEmirHan He says “huckleberry” in the movie, but historically, it would have been “huckle bearer.” According to the historian in the town of Tombstone (who appreciates the movie but doesn’t like it, as far as I could tell), coffins were often made of huckleberry wood at the time.

@RealEmirHan For some reason, I thought it was your huckleberrer which was a term for pallbearer. He’s saying he’s going to escort him to the grave.

Val Kilmer’s “I’m your huckleberry” in Tombstone is Southern slang for “I’m your man” perfectly fitting Doc Holliday’s confident challenge to Ringo. Michael Biehn was asked “Val Kilmer was difficult to work with?” He replied, "I don't know." Then, after a brief pause, he added. "I never met Val Kilmer while filming Tombstone.” “I only met Doc Holliday."

@ryanripkenshow If he’d gotten one more Cy Young (and we can make a case he should have), that would give him 3 and basically punch his HOF ticket.
