@carsonszeder @Schantzybach @theseaintjokesb modern bats would be like feathers to him. .340-.370 on the reg with a legit run at .400. As a child it should seem unbelievable, as you grow older and wiser though, it will click.

@xOneTrackMind @Schantzybach @theseaintjokesb Prime Cobb would be playing in a mens league every Sunday instead of playing in the mlb because he wouldn’t be able to hit turbo sinkers
English
These batting averages for top 10 hitters smh I grew up on guys hitting .300 and up I saw guys hit .350/.360/.370 I grew up watching gods man.. dudes hit at a high average AND hit Home Runs wtf
@
Sal Stewart is now projected to finish the season as a Top 10 hitter in baseball, ahead of guys like Kyle Schwarber, Kyle Tucker and Nick Kurtz This is just one of the best bats in the sport now
English
@theseaintjokesb Fuck it’s crazy how dumb old heads are. Y’all really think on that t ball ass pitching that your era was the best. Same in every sport. Yall insufferable. Some random pitcher like Soriano for the angles right now would be the best in the 90s
English
@theseaintjokesb You clearly do not understand how insanely good pitching is today compared to any other era of baseball. Ty Cobb would be an 8-hole hitter out there for good defense and to move the runners over for the top of the lineup. Just untouchable stuff from pitchers today.

@dprzygoda Here is Platner's longtime friend accidentally revealing that Platner has known about the tattoo for years:
English
So The Turd Reich was lying about not knowing he had a Nazi tattoo?? I’m shocked…utterly shocked…
Andrew Kaczynski@KFILE
I also saw a text messages between former acquaintances of Graham Platner talking about how had Nazi tattoo months before he said he found out cnn.com/2025/10/24/pol…

@scottyz101 @jacklambert__ has anything ever been adjusted down since after an update?
English
@xOneTrackMind @jacklambert__ Here's the neat part: statcast retroactively applied the new readings with each update to all pitches since the technology was standardized in 2007.

@AlfonsoFrfr Easy choice. Homesteading flat earther = elite, masked up normal = cretin

I’m so tired of old baseball players trying to argue that velocities aren’t going up both as a league and the top players. Do they think rookie Verlander threw 108? Or Randy Johnson would have thrown 108 today? Aroldis is the most freakish athlete to throw a ball and was 105.9.
HaloTerritory@HaloTerritory
"When you're seeing velocities at 95 [MPH] today, those aren't velocities at 95 we saw." Tim Salmon talks about the difference in how velocity is tracked, and how it may be misleading when comparing eras.

Konnor Griffin laces his first Major League triple off the wall at 108.7 mph!
His 12.06 home-to-third time is the fastest triple by a @Pirates player this season.

More conservatives need to start treating the Woke Reich podcasters and their ilk like the Klansmen or neo-Nazis, many if not most of them are. We don’t debate or platform them. We don’t treat them as legitimate in any way. We denounce, condemn, mock, and expose them. The left-media use them to try to delegitimizate us and promote the Marxists-Islamists and Democrats.

@_BuhoObservador @NickJFuentes its not even politics, its just his take on the jews. that being said, we love our one trick nick😂

For whatever reason, too many fans seem to focus on what Elly De La Cruz isn’t, and miss what he is becoming.
They focus on his future, more than his present.
He’s 24-years old. He’s in his 3rd full MLB season. He’s played fewer than 450 MLB games.
Right now, he’s hitting .281-.361-.563-.924 with an OPS+ of 152. He’s on pace for 30 doubles, 51 homers, 132 runs, 101 RBI, 50 stolen bases, 81 walks. That would produce the second 50/50 season in MLB history, joining Shohei Ohtani.
He’s scored a run in 12 of their 16 games, collected a hit in 13 of those games, and been on base in 13 straight games.
For as much as fans complain about injuries, and players not playing with injuries, Elly's played 234 consecutive games for the Reds. That's the 5th longest streak by a Red since 1970.
He’s improving as a right-handed hitter, facing left-handed pitching.
2023 .184 w/ 2 HR in 122 PA
2024 .224 w/ 6 HR in 217 PA
2025 .236 w/ 5 HR in 210 PA
2026 .318 w/ 4 HR in 33 PA
He’s yet to commit an error this season. I get it, official scoring isn’t what it once was. But then turn to the metrics. He’s T-3rd in Outs Above Average at +2. Last season he was T-26th (-3). He’s T-6th in defensive runs saved (+1) , after -5 in 2025.
He’s getting better. He answers the bell to play every day. He’s impacting the game at the plate, in the field and on the bases.
Stop worrying about his strike outs. He’s going to strike out. Everyone strikes out.
Stop worrying about moving him to center field. He’s a shortstop. I offer this to every ‘move Elly' conversation: Perspective.
Dave Concepcion: 30 errors age 26, 27 errors age 28 and 31.
Barry Larkin: 29 errors age 24
Derek Jeter: 56 errors age 19 and 29 errors age 21
Robin Yount: 44 errors age 19, 30 errors age 22
Omar Vizquel: 25 errors age 20 and age 21
Ozzie Smith: 25 errors age 23, 22 errors age 33
Alan Trammell: 26 errors age 21
Cal Ripken: 25-25-26 errors, age 22-23-24
Young shortstops take time to learn, develop and settle into the shortstop position.
And finally, stop worrying about him being a Dodger or a Yankee. He won’t even reach free agency until 2030. It’s 2026, for goodness sakes.
Enjoy him. Appreciate him. He’s the best player on the #Reds. He’s one of the best players in the game.
