This whole situation sounds odd to me. This woman was able to handle the wild antics of Ken Russell, but she’s irritated by Tom Hardy playing Fishdom and being arrogant? Something is amiss to this story.

I’m suddenly receiving DMs from everyone I know who’s ever worked with Tom Hardy, and the stories aren’t happy ones. There is definitely a common theme.

You make an interesting point. Let's say Tom Hardy has been a handful. Do we really need to lay that on the sensitivities of an actress who starred in Bob Guccione's "Caligula?" All that ever needed to be said about actors who lose the plot was uttered by Cecil B.DeMille in Billy Wilder's "Sunset Boulevard" 76 years ago. "A dozen press agents working overtime can do terrible things to the human spirit."

@AVARY Well, Mirren was only about 21 when Ken had her naked for days making Savage Messiah. It was her first real film (she'd made a B-movie for Michael Powell in Australia). At 21 I don't think I wore clothes.

@AVARY George Miller and Charlize had some problems with him. Hardy publicly apologized to the Mad Max director for getting frustrated on set, admitting he was “in over his head” and acknowledging his behavior was difficult.

@AVARY Maybe he said something about middle eastern genocide that someone else didn't want to hear ? or He might have took issue with some new 'woke' directive or guideline that someone wanted him to follow. Those would be my guesses for what they're worth.

@AVARY I mean, who knows. I saw some tweets from a guy who shot the show a couple days ago and he said Tom was always great on set, on time, professional, that he was always under the impression there was only gonna be two seasons anyway…

@AVARY The moment I read this story, I knew we were getting about 12% of the actual story. I'll guess salaries played a large role in the drama, and not Hardy showing up late.

At 80 I’m not about to put up with any bullshit now from a boy who barely got one supporting nom.

@AVARY This whole thing is weird. The guy who first reported it worked for The Hollywood Reporter then it spread like wildfire. Now The Hollywood Reporter claims he isn’t fired but on not so good terms. We’ll see what happens. I love dogs and people who champion them.

@AVARY For what it's worth there were stories about him being late on Fury Road and Charlize Theron being pissed off at him during production and around the time of its release.
