Join us Thursday as we continue the workshop series for filmmakers on the subject of Screenwriting and Preproduction. No matter what means of creation these can be hugely helpful for understanding where a story is going even as a disposable framework. x.com/i/spaces/1oKMv…

@ImKingGinger They're bots from some of the ai hater accounts. You'll see one comment then all the following comments triple digit following but only have double digit followers. The pattern is so obvious that I barely pay them any mind.

Why do those with the smallest follower counts hate AI the most? What's the correlation here?

The Afroman Trial. -Cops raid Afromans house for bullshit reasons. -Steal money, break his door, fuck his house up. -No criminality found whatsoever, no charges at all pressed on Afroman. -Afroman spends the next 3 years making songs that make fun of all the officers involved by name, even using footage of the raid from his own CCTV cameras. -Songs had titles like "Randy Walters is a son of a bitch" and "Lick Em Low Lisa" accusing one of the officers of being a lesbian and sleeping with the other officers wives. -During the raid one officer looked like he was about to eat some lemon pound cake sitting on Afromans counter, Afroman made a whole album calling the officer fat. -The cops get mad and file a lawsuit for defamation. -Afroman turns up to court in a whole American flag suit. -Officers performatively mald and cry while listening to the songs really trying to oversell how badly the songs upset them. -One officer was suing because Afroman made a whole song about him saying he was fucking the officers wife. When the officer was asked if Afroman was really fucking his wife, he said "I don't know". Nuking his own case and establishing that there is a non-zero chance that Afroman might actually be fucking his wife. -As his only witness for the trial, Afroman brought a deputies EX FUCKING WIFE. -The jury ruled completely in favour of Afroman. This entire thing has been a great win for free speech and absolutely fucking hilarious.

Afroman making cops cry in court while they play his videos is pure bliss. Him being found not guilty restores a tiny bit of faith. Best entertainment this week.

We just released Firefly Custom Models (beta) to everyone 🎉 You can train a model on your own images to keep a consistent style or character! I trained a model on my photography and generated images that would be impossible to get any other way for my upcoming film.

I'm actually very excited to try out HeadHunters by Sumolab on Quest 3 out now! I have been seeing their posts teasing the game and I assumed it was just a flat game not in VR but It's out today on quest 3 and I can't like to try it! We need more third person and flat style games that use VR to look around and in unique ways.

@cfryant It's a good model, it's not earth shattering but it reinforces what MJ is good at. I've always been SD or now flux stan because I dig what it puts out. It's just taste. Folks need to chill and make some images.

Just wanted to clarify my take here: I am judging Midjourney v8 on what it is and what it has improved - not how it stacks up against the competition. As far as professional use goes, there is no comparison. Nano Banana Pro absolutely destroys it for utility. Aesthetics alone can't fix the fact that it takes 10x longer to get a really specific result. I would love to see them make a comeback, but v8 alpha ain't it.
Christopher Fryant@cfryant

Midjourney v8 alpha is out now. Here are 20 examples using their new native HD, no SREFS, text only. My thoughts @ the end, plus 3 exclusive prompts for subscribers from these 3 below.

@jongranskog @runwayml Just not immediately accessible would be good and still allow for people to keep making while their project doesn't slow down. Google flow does this really well. Just not much else..

@jongranskog @runwayml One thing that happens in workflows and the app is that the longer a project goes the much longer it has to parse all the clips and then even inputting in text fields slows. Something like nesting in premiere or subgraphs in comfy where the other parts were there.....

My last short was me trying out workflows in @runwayml and forming an opinion on how it can be used to make stories. Which I spent alot of time working and fighting with. Im gonna do a bts, but for sure these tools are pretty powerful if used to their strengths.

@PJaccetturo Yup. The blood that flowed through the industry was based on a promise that somehow we would get our creative rocks off somewhere. It usually doesn't happen. I wouldn't say it's rare, but uncommon. Maybe you jump from camera dept to directing off a chance. Ai has changed all that

I tell you I am getting fatter, and heat exhaustion is hitting me much harder than ever at work I threw up because I kept just pushing through today, but it's a combo of things; I didn't really feel like I was overheating particularly because i've worked in far hotter weather, though I was sweating /a lot/ so I was probably very dehydrated; but I was also drinking /a lot/ of water, but just water, so probably not getting proper "hydration" because no electrolytes and stuff. Anyway i've been getting this really sticky phlegm when the weather is hot and i'm sweating a lot these days. That phlegm, even if I keep my hydration up leads to coughing and nausea along side the exhaustion. It's a gross feeling and a nasty combo, like I have this crap in my mouth I can't get out and no amount of water seems to be helping. This is 100% due to me being significantly more unfit these days, but also just a friendly reminder that the solution isn't to just keep smashing water and trying to push through when you're overheating. Heat stroke is no joke. You need to cool your body down. Take a break if you have to, get out of the sun for a while. Construction work is fun and a great time but you respect your physical limits if you don't want to feel like you're on the brink of literally fuckin dying
