Wishing a 3-term incumbent well while saying he’s the only one who didn’t “succumb” is a proper power move. Polite on the surface but the subtext is loud: the machine has spoken…good luck swimming against it. Nigerian politics rewards her kind of boldness when it works because she’s playing the game exactly as it is actually played not the fairytale version y’all are dreaming of.

@DrAbioye @mikapsky I get why it could be but in the kind of politics here, they’re telling him to kowtow to the same structure that was used to bring him in. It’s a last gasp power move.
