Wishing a 3-term incumbent well while saying he’s the only one who didn’t “succumb” is a proper power move. Polite on the surface but the subtext is loud: the machine has spoken…good luck swimming against it. Nigerian politics rewards her kind of boldness when it works because she’s playing the game exactly as it is actually played not the fairytale version y’all are dreaming of.

Bala Mohammed should be Seyi Makinde’s running mate for Vice President. Neither of them is realistically aiming to win the presidency but this pairing would best serve the interests of their down ballot candidates for other offices. From a Seyi Makinde perspective, this is a great move. He's not deluding himself to think he'd win, he wont. But what this gives him is an opportunity to boost the chances of downward candidates for Gov, NASS & HOA. There is no bigger motivation than this.
