You seem to ignore the balance between the various epistles. • Paul (Romans, Galatians, Ephesians): Justification is by faith, apart from works of the law. • James: Genuine faith is evidenced by works; faith without works evidenced in the life of a believer is a dead faith. • Both are true and complementary. Works do not justify us before God; they demonstrate that our faith is real.
