The company has decided to move (merge) its quarterly variable pay into fixed pay / fixed salary. In other words, the portion of pay that used to be “variable” based on project-level performance will now become part of regular monthly salary.
However, annual performance bonuses tied to senior/mid-level roles will still remain. The variable pay shift primarily affects the project-level/quarterly component.
The change is expected to benefit junior employees more since that quarterly variable pay was more heavily used for those staff.
HCLTech will follow a similar process to last year for how increments are applied.

HCLTech has announced a company-wide wage hike effective October, benefiting employees across all levels.
The move aims to boost retention and morale amid intense competition for tech talent. Additionally, HCLTech will restructure compensation by shifting a portion of variable pay into fixed salary, providing greater income stability and predictability for employees.
The company said this decision aligns with its long-term employee-first strategy. Industry experts view this as a positive step toward ensuring workforce satisfaction and enhancing productivity in the evolving IT sector.
