Interestingly, Meta’s political advocacy does seem to have shifted to focusing on data centers — a wise political move, by my lights. It’s odd that a16z and OpenAI haven’t done the same.

@ShakeelHashim Eh I wouldn’t overstate this. Meta has played and continues to play a leading role in the fight to block state ai laws, they are just savvy enough to realize they are unpopular and not put themselves out in front on a comms level like build American ai does

@ShakeelHashim I’m not sure this is true either? Eg Metas massive CA state pac doesn’t seem particularly focused on data centers vs other regulation. I agree at a comms level they seem more savvy about it and aren’t trying to do random anti ai safety skullduggery
