@SpattyAl Average pay is not 100 dollars an hour and only about 10 percent of all plumbers are independent. Even then, if they charge 100 dollars an hour as an independent contractor, they do not make that amount.

English

@SpattyAl @herosnvrdie69 Okay. Now take away taxes, business insurance, licenses, vehicles, tools, offices/toolshop, the time driving to and from the job to make $100/hr. Small jobs, people who don’t pay or want to argue bills (that’s time you’re working for free buddy),
“Why isn’t everyone a plumber?”
English

@SpattyAl @herosnvrdie69 That's what they charge us. The companies the plumbers work with don't pay their plumbers that rate
English

@SpattyAl @herosnvrdie69 No they are not, highly specialized master plumbers can make amounts like that, or people who own a practice but absolutely not the average plumber
English

@SpattyAl @herosnvrdie69 I just paid a 7k bill for work performed yesterday. I think 3k of that was for his labor and overhead.
He put in a solid 9 hour day and still had 2 calls after mine ended.
English

@SpattyAl @herosnvrdie69 The owners of the company maybe. Definitely not the workers
English

@SpattyAl @herosnvrdie69 No, that's what consumers pay the company. That is not what virtually any plumber makes lol.
Even owners don't get that, they have overhead.
English

@SpattyAl @herosnvrdie69 You have no idea what you’re talking about buddy 😭
English

@SpattyAl @herosnvrdie69 Hvac and plumbing is where the money is in trades. Especially if you specialize.
