Gas car owners are more concerned with charging times than EV owners because they struggle to understand the changes that come with an EV. The empty-to-full mindset does not apply to EVs. Here’s an example of a 5-minute stop. Leaving home fully charged, destination charging, or recharging upon returning home after a trip minimizes charging on the open road.

@TechOperator "The gas station is in your garage" But yeah, it's a very different mindset shift.

@TechOperator I'd go as far as to say that 99% of my usage is from charging at home. That's completely under appreciated. I can't pump gas at home. Ever. The closest tech that almost came to homes was natural gas powered cars. Roadtrips with Tesla fast charging and FSD, win!

The ironic thing is that charging is SO MUCH EASIER than gas station pumps. Park, begin charging, go inside. Charger knows my car, no payment interface. If I had an ICE car I have to find a gas stall then move it again for the other stall and when I come back it's scorching hot or frozen, gotta fire it up and get everything going again. Gotta pay separate with frozen fingers. I honestly can't believe people choose to live like that unless they're punishing themselves for something.

@TechOperator Why do EV owners feel the need to always justify their purchases? If it's so good, be happy about it. But the CONSTANT need to promote EVs by owners makes me wonder. Is it really that good if you have to do this all the time?

@TechOperator Im concerned with it during road trips. 5 minute charging means you are stopping every 2 hours and adding 8-10% extra time to a road trip, which is unacceptable to many.

@TechOperator I see your all still seeing the massive drops in EV sales and have a narrative to push. In 10 years the super chargers will be urban decay like pay phones.

@TechOperator It's a matter of more than mindset. Infrastructure + scheduling + proper planning. Many people leave with "no time to spare" for traveling. It's something I'm working with my own kids on currently. When you don't plan, you tend to just end up late for everything.

@TechOperator Or they watch coworkers and friends choose where to go for lunch based on which location is likely to have available, working chargers, and they listen to them rant angrily about people who do not go move their vehicle in the middle of lunch to make it available for others.

@TechOperator It is a mindset change. And with more and more people getting comfortable with EVs and their fueling differences it will all work out
