There are news items in certain section of media regarding UIDAI issuing notices of inquiry to some residents for obtaining Aadhaar on false pretence on the complaints from the State Police which suspect them of being illegal immigrants. 2/n

UIDAI clarifies that these reports are not presented in correct perspective and Aadhaar has got nothing to do with the citizenship issue as such. 3/n

@UIDAI If Aadhaar could also be obtained on false pretence then what was the whole point of introducing it? How do you allow such weak delivery system? We already had/have a more robust PAN Card system in place!

@UIDAI Suspend the officer who issued Aadhaar card with out verification the documents. Where is accountability?
