The recent amendment in Aadhaar guidelines is only harassing common people instead of helping them. Despite making Aadhaar mandatory everywhere, UIDAI now insists that a father’s Aadhaar card is required to add the father’s name — even in cases where the father passed away long before Aadhaar existed. My father expired in 2005, when Aadhaar was not even introduced. How can ordinary citizens like me be expected to provide something that never existed? Such rigid and insensitive rules are creating unnecessary hardship for genuine people who simply want to correct their details for legal and property purposes.
