While driving from Lamu, I was stopped by KDF officers who demanded to see my ID. I told them I don’t have it because I usually don’t carry it for fear of losing it. They told me it’s illegal not to be in possession of my ID. I told them to show me the law that says so. Obvious they couldn’t because there’s no such law.

Lawyers should be the first ones to stand for their rights. If they don’t will the citizens do it? I beg you to read these three articles of the Constitution: 29,39, 238(2). PLEASE. Those rights should never be curtailed by anyone.

Afternoon Dr.Willy Mutunga.I fully get it and shall read on these three articles. In my opinion I felt that yes Khalid could have been hard on those soldiers in terms of his responses. The area itself is like a war Zone for starters and very deserted. Anyways the approach from the KDF soldiers could also have been at the lowest!
