Question: Did we just trigger an affordable housing extinction event? Under this proposal, a city or county could approve hundreds of starter homes, extend roads, add parks, increase sheriff patrols, expand fire coverage, and serve new residents… …while receiving little or no additional property tax revenue from the first $250,000 of value. Why would they do that? Local governments respond to incentives just like everyone else. If starter homes create costs but generate little revenue, what gets approved instead? Higher-priced homes. Commercial development. Anything that helps pay the bills. The danger isn’t that local officials suddenly become anti-affordable housing. The danger is that we create a system where approving affordable housing becomes fiscally irrational. Affordable housing doesn’t disappear because politicians vote against it. It disappears because the math no longer works. And when the math stops working, so do the building permits.

All across our state, Floridians voted to tax themselves to support children’s services councils through property taxes, including homesteaders. They provide an enormous value for children — health, education, wellbeing. They’d be kneecapped by soon-to-be Amendment 3

As a Florida Republican I’m opposed to data centers. The jobs they bring in are temporary during the construction process. After that, they’re managed remotely. You might have a couple dudes on standby to swap cards out but it isn’t the boon people think it is. Not to mention we have a water issue. I’d comprise though. Kick Nestle and the rest of them out of our springs and give 25% of what they were pumping out to Data Center construction. But cap it at that. We get 75% of our spring water back and the other side can be happy they have a big box building that provides nothing to the community

I agree that the cattle ranchers are getting a raw deal. You can trace that back to the monopoly of the meat packers and asinine rules regarding processing animals for consumption. Cargill (packer) underpays the ranchers and over charges at the store because they have a monopoly. As far as beef superiority goes, yeah, we have good beef but it isn’t the best. Japan has several varieties that are heads and tails above prime. Argentina too. Korea for pork as well. Hands down the best.

Yes. I don't buy it if I can avoid it because I don't relish putting American farmers and ranchers out of business. Do you know what the average age of an American farmer is? The system has been so corrupted that it's not profitable to pass down farms anymore (in many but not all situations of course) so the larger farms gobble up smaller farms because they can use economies of scale to be profitable. But this leads to monocropping and higher usage of herbicides, pesticide applications, and fertilizer use, which pollutes streams and rivers. I have had Argentinan beef, but I wish to avoid it as much as I can because American beef is superior and I support our countrymen and women. @Sec_B_Rollin needs to make country or origin and single point traceback a huge priority when she's not dealing with new world screwworm infestations that just crossed our border.

Did you ever serve? As a veteran myself I think Pete is exactly the right person for the job. He’s restored the faith in the military for a lot of us vets and current service members. Real ROE, specific and numerated objectives, overwhelming use of force. Nothing like the past 20 years where the ROE were politicized and fighting with one hand tied behind our backs.
