@3MLandC Speaking for me, I needed to get out and see a greater world and become myself not what the community thought I was. That wasn’t happening at the local JUCO. For me even at current inflated values, the value proposition is still there to want my kids to both go to a 4 yr

The point of a 4 yr college degree is almost as much the connections you make vs what you learn. My phone is filled with high ups and leaders of almost every sector of the ag industry. It wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t gone to k-state.

What an awesome story out of Golden Plains! The Golden Plains girls cross country team just qualified for 1A State for the first time in school history. And one of the coolest parts of their journey is visually impaired runner Searee Bruggeman, who competes with the help of Helen Giefer, a former standout for Trego Community High School. Helen is giving back to the sport she excelled in, helping Searee and the Bulldogs make history together. Truly a special moment for Golden Plains cross country.  #sportsinkansas

@SiekerSales @KStateAgron I’m all about being a good neighbor and always try to make sure volunteer is always dead early. But telling a neighbor cattlman when he “should” be planting his rye or trit that he is going to make way more money than wheat is out there in left field imo.

I got hammered by streak mosaic on a couple fields. If we work together, we can lessen the damage to wheat. Stole this from @KStateAgron Proposed wheat-free windows in different regions of Kansas to reduce the likelihood of a wheat streak mosaic complex outbreak during the subsequent season. Wheat-free windows are defined as the 30-day period prior to the start of the optimal winter wheat planting date for the region.   Here are some important considerations for achieving success with wheat-free windows: •All volunteer wheat should be terminated and completely dead prior to the start of your regional wheat-free window. •Where possible, the fall wheat crop should not be planted until the end of the wheat-free window. •Other winter cereals (such as rye and triticale) should not be planted during this period as they can serve as a “bridge” for the curl mites to move to fall-established wheat. •A regional “break” in the volunteer wheat green bridge will allow for wheat curl mites to die off prior to the start of the optimal wheat planting window. •Volunteer wheat that emerges after this period is of less concern, as it will be emerging at a similar time as the fall-established winter wheat crop. •Success is dependent on coordinated efforts in communities. @LSE_LLC @Arcfunmi The tar on those style is on the underneath side. The strip you see is only for packaging so they don’t stick together. Nobody makes shingles that you have to peel a strip off when putting them on.

What are some liquid fertilizer implements that can put some N down into the ground with low disturbance and can be configured for narrow rows? Just been thinking how if we’re not gonna get any moisture to put fert in an option to shove it in the ground would be nice.

There’s going to be so many no-till guys so upset about this, but subtilling/subsoiling doesn’t disturb the trash on top. It literally just breaks up/lifts the hard pan and allows air and water to flow through the soil better. Technically not even tillage at all. Very cool Matt!
