A beautiful Peacock Butterfly at RSPB Greylake at the weekend. 😍 Great to see the butterflies about again, although a fraction of the number nowadays than I used to see as a kid... 😔🦋

@CarlBovisNature The Robin isn't wet anywhere else. Also, as you note, it is not flinching. It's not a wholly real photo. But the second drop, falling in the exactly same place as the "crown" drop is the giveaway. That part was setup for a photo.

Where do you stand on this image? I'm certain it's AI... The original Robin is a real photo, the 'crown' water splash has been added after. It's too perfect, the Robin doesn't flinch, and the physics are all wrong. AI or composite images should be declared as such, IMO..

Not the way we wanted to start Work Zone Awareness Week. Saturday night we were installing a new electronic sign over SB I-5 in Fife when a driver crashed into one of our flashing arrow boards. Please, for YOUR safety and ours, slow down in work zones. Don’t drive impaired.#NWZAW

@CarlBovisNature I'm actually not sure if I've ever seen one. But I know they're down by the river (the Columbia River). I've seen osprey, bald eagles, Herons, Egrets, you name a water bird, I've seen it. But I don't think I've actually seen an "in the wild" kingfisher! Only in your pics! ♥️🐦

When did you last see a Kingfisher? 😍🐦

@CarlBovisNature That's what I was first thinking, but I also assumed a Raven would consider it a threat and run it off (or worse). Perhaps you simply caught it at exactly the right point in time. 😁👍

@4FNC I think it was probably just curious, as Corvids always are... if they were small chicks the Jackdaw would likely have eaten them!

A Jackdaw guarding a Raven's nest and its chicks on the cliffs of Porthleven a couple of weeks ago! 😅 (The chicks are as big as the Jackdaw!)😯🐦

@CarlBovisNature The glow of the the light coming through under its wing is glorious. I saw a great Heron coming in for a landing last week in a slew along the Columbia River and it looked absolutely prehistoric! It could have been a pterodactyl!

My first singing Willow Warbler of the year! 😀😍 Willow Warblers are summer visitors and are almost identical to Chiffchaffs, the best way to tell them apart is when they're singing.. Chiffchaffs repeat their name continuously, whilst Willow Warblers sing like this! 😊🎶🐦

I have a new blog post up (it’s free to read and share) all about this weeks nature adventures - my first bald eagle babies of the season, Osprey mating at Pitt lake, plover eggs on the path! Fish release at Watershed park! What a week! And to top it all -

Cormorants, surf scoters, ducks, gulls, terns - incredible birdwatching yesterday with Steveston Seabreeze Adventures - I kind of thought the sea was largely empty - (not really but you know what I mean) - a massive blue expanse - but it’s full of life!! I have a new blog post

@CarlBovisNature I heard woodpeckers in the distance today, I saw 7 band tailed pigeons, 3 Stellar Jays, a male Towhee, and a very cute house sparrow. It was a good day today.
