Reiche kamen und gingen: Babylonier, Römer, Osmanen, Briten. Zweitausend Jahre Exil und Diaspora. Und doch kehrten die Juden zurück, errichteten den Staat neu, belebten ihre alte Sprache wieder und brachten den Schekel zurück in Umlauf. Nennt mir ein anderes Land auf dieser Erde, das dieselbe einzigartige Kombination aus Name, revived antiker Sprache und historischer Währung vorweisen kann. Ich warte.

Mañana tengo que empezar a dar clases sobre el imperio romano. Y a diferencia de lo que piensa la mayoría, es un tema MUY aburrido de dar.
Las fuentes primarias que tenes son muy chotas, las preguntas históricas que giran alrededor son aburridas y los pibes lo sienten un periodo histórico muy lejano.
Una revolución francesa o industrial son mucho más interesante y divertida para enseñar. Hasta feudalismo genera más interés

one thing that has always bugged me with google translate is how english works as a middleman even if it's not visible in the equation, this means that the plural of "you" for instance gets lost in translation because it doesn't appear in EN (even when it exists in other tongues)

Who says that Peter founded the church in Rome? It is well known that Peter first exercised his ministry in Jerusalem, then in Antioch, and after a few years he went to Rome. This is evident from many early sources, none of which assert that he was the founder or first elder of the church of Rome.

A revealing response.
There are more steps and premises required than you assume.
1. Peter is the "head of the church". Almost completely depends on an exegetically dubious interpretation of a single passage in Matthew.
2. That there is a thing like Apostolic Succession where some specific, elite sub-class of elders/overseers inherit a perpetual, quasi-apostolic office with similar authority and charism of infallibility etc. As opposed to just being ordained as, you know, elders/overseers.
3. That Peter was a "bishop" of Rome, and indeed the first bishop. As opposed to the far more likely scenario that Paul founded the church of Rome, and Peter (who may have had some time of ministry there) was just martyred there.

You are now projecting new meaning into your earlier words. It is pointless to debate this way.

You’re equivocating on the word “interpret.”
Scripture interpreting Scripture means Scripture is the authority.
You interpreting Scripture means you are submitting to that authority, not becoming it.
The conclusion doesn’t follow. You don’t become Scripture just because you read and interpret it.
