Who me? I'm a Navy Veteran, I bludgeon the willfully stupid with facts (mainly about history and the sciences), and host a sometimes weekly show on YouTube.

@Jesse_Livermore @FB_Helmet_Guy Veterans committee, not the BBWAA vote. Lofton will have to go the same route to get into Cooperstown.
English

@FB_Helmet_Guy Which leads to the question -- how the hell did Harold Baines get into the Hall of Fame and not Kenny Lofton?
English

@CoachSwit Semi-pro would be the independent leagues. Yeah you’re paid, but nowhere near enough for the game to be your primary job.
English

@TheTrekCentral No. And I will not sign it. They need better writers, they need people who can tell a coherent and engaging story, not rip-off what others have made.

@TheGlobeIsDead Still waiting for the FE explanation for why reciprocal zeniths diverge instead of being parallel.

@wasimk313 @GBX_Press If you’re only about the truth, why are you sharing AI shite?

Matt Brown@IamTheImmortal
How are people still tricked by this god stuff in 2026? I get it in 1026 when your entire world was a square mile in size. We see 13 billion light years in to the universe now and have science and technology. I don’t get it.

@frozenaesthetic ‘The Three Musketeers and a Squire’ doesn’t quite have the same ring to it.

@realpeteyb123 Functional reset with term limits for Congress and a total ban on corporate involvement in lobbying. Remove public office as a means to amass wealth.

@RichScotford @nxt888 I’ve met them, and the analysis does show that politics and changing ROEs factored in heavily. The situation was very similar to Afghanistan; allied forces drove out the Taliban, wasn’t allowed to wipe them out, handed governing over to the civilian population, Taliban returns.
English

@nxt888 I’ve never met an American who said we could’ve won if our hands weren’t tied.
English

There is a particular type of American who, when confronted with Vietnam, says:
"We could have won if the politicians hadn't tied our hands."
Let us examine this claim with the respect it deserves.
Which is none.
At peak deployment, the United States had 543,000 troops in Vietnam.
It flew more than 5.2 million combat sorties.
It used weapons so advanced that Vietnamese forces had never seen anything like them.
It had total air superiority for most of the war.
It had naval dominance of the entire coastline.
It had satellite intelligence, chemical defoliation, electronic surveillance.
It had the full industrial capacity of the wealthiest nation in the history of the world pointed at a country where most people farmed rice by hand.
And it lost.
Not barely lost.
Not lost-on-a-technicality.
Lost so completely that the last image of American presence in Vietnam is a helicopter on a rooftop in Saigon and desperate people climbing the walls trying to get on it as the American empire evacuated its failure in real time.
Broadcast live.
On television.
Watched by the entire world.
"They tied our hands."
With what?
What hand was left untied?
What weapon was withheld?
What tactic was forbidden?
The truth is too simple and too brutal for that excuse to cover:
You cannot win a war against people willing to fight forever for their own land.
You were never going to win.
The politicians didn't lose Vietnam.
The logic of empire lost Vietnam.
Because empire always eventually loses when it meets people who refuse to accept that they are supposed to lose.

They put forth bills to pay TSA 9 times and the republicans voted against them
Big Fish@BigFish3000
AOC and Bernie Sanders will not pay TSA agents but fly first class on tax payers dollars. Agents make around 45,000 a year.

@myonlinetrust @wickens_richard @ennui365 If they’re government loans, going zero interest would just have them perform accounting kabuki to divert funds from their other source - OUR TAXES. The real way to prevent that is a legal ban on all forms of punitive interest for all loan and credit types.
English

@wickens_richard @ennui365 If they’re government loans then no, no one would be paying the interest.
English

@MorgothsReview He will most certainly be impeached after the mid-terms. However the Democrats are not the idle replacement either. We need the Mamdani crowd to take over to see any real change.

@logicensues @icy_pitschy @esjesjesj @grok Oh no, married at 6, waited until she was 9 to consummate, which was a sexual act.
English

@grok @icy_pitschy @esjesjesj You already stated that Muhammed had sex with a 9 year old, which is prepubescent, is this something a person does who is not a pedophile?
English

Based on primary Islamic sources like Sahih Bukhari 5134, Aisha was 6 at betrothal and 9 at consummation. Modern revisionists cite timelines (e.g., her sister Asma's age, battle participation) arguing 17-19 instead.
Clinically, DSM-5 pedophilic disorder requires recurrent intense urges/fantasies toward prepubescents (≤13) over 6+ months, plus acting on them or distress/impairment. No evidence shows this pattern in Muhammad's life—his other wives were adults/widows, this was one alliance marriage in 7th-century norms where young betrothals were common globally.
Thus, he does not meet the definition.
English

@esjesjesj What’s worse, an elected official being a pedo or worshiping a pedo as the perfect human ordained by god?
English

@AT2Pro You should try looking things up before you post

Then why have my wages been stagnant for 20 year while the rich reap massive rewards?
The Rabbit Hole@TheRabbitHole
Capitalism creates so there’s more for everyone. Socialism is the weaponization of greed and envy making everyone worse off.
English

@blandCinema No, wage stagnation means wages haven’t changed, but they’ve also have changed so they are not stagnant, aka unmoving. Wage devaluation is more accurate for what you’re intending to point out, the comparative buying power of those wages has significantly decreased, which is true
English

@AT2Pro When wage growth is behind inflation is what stagnant wages means
