We started OpenPasskey because we saw this gap firsthand. Walked into 100+ cafes in Sydney. Every owner had a drawer of dead loyalty cards and a POS terminal they barely understood. None of them wanted another app. All of them wanted repeat customers. One NFC tap. No card. No app. Loyalty earned onchain. That's the whole product. The Nilson Report is projecting 32B+ cards by 2030. We're betting the next card scheme looks nothing like a card.

We’re building OpenPasskey—the card scheme for crypto, like Visa is for fiat. We start in one vertical – cafés – by fixing offline loyalty with an all-in-one NFC terminal and Apple/Google Wallet cards; over time the same hardware and wallet identity give merchants a clean path into on-chain payments in everyday retail. Why cafés first Cafés are the highest-frequency offline retail. And offline loyalty is broken. No one wants another app, QR sign-up, or to say a phone number aloud for a stamp. So we built a small NFC “magic box” + Wallet pass flow.
