GOVERNOR ALIA ORDERS DISLODGEMENT OF ARMED HERDSMEN TERRORIST CAMPS IN BENUE FORESTS Tuesday, April 14, 2026 The Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has directed security agencies to immediately commence coordinated operations to dislodge armed herder terrorist camps identified in forests around Apa, Otukpo, Gwer-West and other parts of the State. The Governor was reacting to the brutal attacks on Edikwu-Ankpali, Ikobi, and Adija in Apa LGA, as well as Upu village in Otukpo LGA which left many dead. He said the decisive directive is necessitated by the renewed waves of violent attacks on innocent communities, which he described as unacceptable and increasingly hydra-headed. He noted that these criminal elements have exploited forested areas as operational bases to launch attacks, and must be flushed out without delay. Governor Alia reaffirmed that the protection of lives and property remains the foremost responsibility of his administration. He has therefore mandated a sustained, intelligence-driven security crackdown aimed at neutralizing all threats and restoring confidence among citizens, particularly in the affected local government areas. The Governor also assured residents that the State Government is working in close synergy with federal security agencies and will not relent until lasting peace is achieved. He urged the people to remain vigilant, cooperate with security operatives, and continue to provide credible information that will aid ongoing operations. While commiserating with families who have lost loved ones in the recent attacks, Governor Alia reiterated his administration’s resolve to confront criminality head-on and ensure that Benue State is safe for all. GOV. ALIA REWARDS 30 NEWLY PROMOTED SECURITY OFFICERS WITH N151.2Million By Donald Kumun The Benue State Governor, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has rewarded the 30 newly promoted security officers serving at the Government House, Makurdi, with a total sum of N151.2 million. This rare and first-of-its-kind gesture is in recognition of their dedication and exemplary service to the state. According to the Governor, each of the 26 male officers received N5 million, while the four female officers were awarded N5.3 million each, a gesture that underscores his administration’s commitment to fairness, inclusivity, and encouragement of excellence within the security architecture. Governor Alia announced the surprise reward shortly after decorating the officers at the Old Banquet Hall of Government House, Makurdi during which he noted that his administration holds the services of security personnel in the highest regard, both within the state and across the nation. He emphasized that deliberate attention is given to officers at the point of their promotion to motivate them towards greater diligence, professionalism, and total commitment to safeguarding lives and property. The Governor urged the beneficiaries to justify the confidence reposed in them by matching their new ranks with commendable conduct and performance. Reaffirming his administration’s support, Governor Alia assured all security agencies operating in the state of sustained collaboration and welfare-driven policies. He also appealed to the families of the officers to continue providing the necessary emotional and moral support, emphasising that their sacrifices remain vital to the effectiveness of personnel while on duty. A breakdown of the promotions shows that 22 Police officers were elevated from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police. One officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Corps I (ASC I), while two others advanced to Corps Assistant I (CA I). Similarly, three officers of the State Fire Service were confirmed as Assistant Superintendent of Fire I (ASF I), one officer rose to Assistant Superintendent of Fire II (ASF II), and one officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps was promoted to Road Marshal Assistant I (RMA I). It will be recalled that the Governor had earlier rewarded 33 officers serving at Government House with N5 million each. This brings the total sum disbursed to security personnel under his administration to N316.2 million—an unprecedented show of appreciation. This remarkable gesture not only boosts morale but also sets a new benchmark, as no administration in the state since the return of democracy in 1999 has demonstrated such consistent and substantial financial recognition for security operatives. Donald Kumun, is the Principal Special Assistant to the Benue State Governor on Print Media. Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

Peter Obi came to my school CSS Orsumoghu, he joined PTA meeting that day and was taking records of what's happening in the school from students directly. He then issued a Cheque to rebuild class and employ more teachers before he left. I'm amongst the Prefects he gave his number. If I don't support Peter Obi God will punish me.

I schooled in Onitsha High School, Onitsha. One morning, the principal Mrs Julie Ofoefuna informed us that Mr Peter Obi was coming to our school because the Senior Prefect called him and reported that the school building was at the verge of collapse which was true. We thought it was a joke because my school was one of the local schools then, we said” the governor has not finished visiting CKC, DMGS, St Charles, QRC”etc these are best schools then. By 12:00pm that day, he landed with Dr Kay Onyechi the state commissioner of basic education, he inspected the school. He said he will return after two weeks. Two weeks passed we didn’t see him, we took his words as normal Nigeria politicians 😭😭😂.On the third week which was school closing period, he landed. He came like a thief, no motorcades or sirens blowing ” he apologized for coming after two weeks, he said when he learnt that the school was in exam period, he decided to wait but to come after exam. In the end, he gave more than enough for the school renovation. He asked us what we wanted for lunch, nobody could mention any reasonable food. He gave each student ₦100 for snacks.

ALERT 🚨 After paying all the fees required, setting up for our convention tomorrow, the owner of Rainbow Event centre has just informed us that he has come under pressure from the FCDA and Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike that if he allows the ADC the use of his facilities, his licence will be revoked. But we have already signed the contract with him. We will hold our convention tomorrow as planned at the Rainbow event centre. We will not bow to this creeping tyranny. And definitely not to this petty tyrant. ADC is rising, Nigeria is rising.

Today, I began consultations with respected members of the Governance Advisory Council. We had honest, thoughtful conversations about the future of Lagos and the kind of leadership it requires. I value the experience and guidance shared. This is about listening, learning and working with others to build a stronger Lagos.

@BalooJr01 @Joe_brendan_ Easier said when the residents are not your relatives, if our mission is to liberate the people of Borno and your solution also endangers their lives what’s the difference between the solution and the problem?

A Possible Solution To Boko Haram The Nigerian President should launch an operation in Borno with at least 20 million dollars Give anyone who snitches on a BH member at least 2 thousand dollars with some in cash and other forms Throw money at the problem and I tell you, in a month, over 100 arrests will be made. When you arrest and vet, shwack them. Do not keep them in prison Turn the Borno residents against themselves with money. Let the state spiral into a crisis of sensitivity and suspicion. Run this program for a year and see results Money overrides religion loyalty. Money is the only thing that can buy the heart of young people over religion. They will cower. Most of them in BH are even there for money not religion. So throw more money at the problem People will start hunting for possible BH members to report to. Yes some informants will be killed but with the amount of money throw? more will be willing to take their chances Turn the residents of the state against each other. Throw money at them. Even throw at the soldiers, they will tell on themselves too.
