@BigPeter @USArmy Efficiency in hover. Power required to hover is inversely proportional to the “disk area” of air being pushed down. A jet exhaust is a tiny area compared to a rotor and would require orders of magnitude more power, more fuel burn, and not be able to operate off of dirt, etc.
