There is absolutely no difference. If you get $1m you have to pay 40% tax. If you get 1 million shares, you should have to pay 40% tax.

Wealth should be taxed just like ordinary income. Elon Musk can collect his $500bn tax bill and he can pay it just like everyone else.

It's not about disliking Elon. It's about seeing my friends who claim to be anti-governmet kissing a welfare queen's butt. He's is not our friend and will do nothing for any of us. You do not earn a billion dollars. You steal it. Nobody works a billion times harder than a nurse, a teacher, or a farmer. That wealth comes from underpaying the people who actually did the work. Stop praising hoarders who are just really good at wage theft.

I am begging people to understand the reason you pay so much tax is because the richest pay so little. The combined tax dodged by the richest 1% is more than the tax contribution of the bottom 70%. If they paid their tax, you wouldn't have to pay any.
