You don't understand freedom. Choosing between two GOVERNMENT controlled and funded schools is a fake choice... fake school choice created a monopoly of government run schools. We go to private school, and we pay to do so. Priorities. Now, our school considers the government their customer, not the parents. That's the reality.

No Sharia Law in Texas Curriculum Thursday, I sent a letter to the State Board of Education expressing strong opposition to any proposed curriculum changes that promote or include Sharia law beyond objective historical context in Texas classrooms. Our schools must remain focused on factual, balanced instruction rooted in the foundational values that shaped our nation. Any curriculum or instructional materials that could be seen as endorsing or promoting ideologies in conflict with Texas and American founding principles have no place in our public education system. Wow! Those are the exact talking points of everyone at Austin ISD. 🤣 I literally listened to teachers, admin, etc, from Austin ISD complain that if they just had a little more money, for sure they could teach students. Go back and listen to that 23 hours of testimony. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, they are paying to bus kids to drag queen shows under auspices of aligning with the TEKS. 🤦‍♀️ Austin ISD is the Twighlight Zone but doesn't have enough self awareness to know it. No amount of money can fix their problems.

I see it at my kid’s school; infuriating to see kids struggle while you gleefully hand $ to rich assholes 2) public ed could do it’s job if properly funded, not pilfered to subsidize wealthy welfare vouchers

This doesn't break a monopoly, it creates one... government now is on the path to control all education... not just the public one required by the Texas constitution. That's a monopoly.

Tourette’s typically affects boys and begins in early childhood. This was an entirely new patient population. The girls displayed the exact same symptoms as Jan: the same outbursts and catchphrases. The phenomenon soon migrated to TikTok, where it spread like wildfire. Researchers coined a new term for what they were observing: mass social media–induced illness — a modern iteration of the long-recognized phenomenon of mass sociogenic illness. Yet, in 2014, when paediatric gender clinics across the Western world began to fill with adolescent girls — another entirely new patient population — “gender-affirming” clinicians didn’t even bother to look for the trigger. And it wouldn’t have taken much effort to find. All it required was a glance at the cultural messaging of the time. Because 2014 was the year Time magazine put Laverne Cox on its cover with the headline: The Transgender Tipping Point: America’s Next Civil Rights Frontier. And with that, the modern trans rights movement launched. Trans-identified celebrities were everywhere, trans characters appeared in children’s books and television shows, trans influencers proliferated with astonishing speed online, and schools began teaching gender identity ideology as if it were scientific fact. And in a perfect-storm scenario, smartphones and social media exploded in popularity, creating the ideal super-spreading environment for this seductive idea to go viral. The message adolescents received was simple: If you hate your body, that could mean you’re trans. And right on cue, legions of confused adolescents who hated their developing bodies began showing up at gender clinics believing themselves to be trans. Just like the TikTok tics. A mass social media–induced illness. Except on this occasion, instead of scrambling to contain the epidemic, doctors picked up their syringes and scalpels and set about permanently medicalising the innocent youth caught up in this powerful cultural storm. And activists marched in the streets demanding that these young people be allowed to sacrifice their health, fertility, and body parts — while swiftly demonising anyone who dared point out the obvious parallels to social contagions of the past.

Seriously, more than one time, more than one ISD. There are stories across that State. This victim card you are playing, isn't a good look. If pub ed was doing its job, nobody would be looking for school choice. And no. Most of the private schools applying for TEFA are small schools.

@whiteb_PS No. And neither do public schools. Just ask any superintendent who created policy, giving them sole discretion to deny students admission to public school.

One would think that having the name Davy Crockett, he would have read the Texas Constitution. There is a requirement for a free education, so they created pub ed. Pub ed got lost in teaching liberal ideology and not academics. Because they were a monopoly, they got away with it. Introduce competition, break up the monopoly, you still meet the constitutional requirement of free education but without the monopoly. It is a perfect solution that will propel us towards the goal of having citizens who are educated enough to protect our liberty. I am grateful.
