True words. Also applicable to South Africa
AJ Inapi (Allan)@aj_inapi

I'm Papua New Guinean, so let me talk about my own country for a second. My country is not failing because of the "white man." My country is not failing because of some mythical systematic stranglehold keeping us down. My country is failing because we have deep-rooted corruption at every level of society and government - the same kind of corruption people are now waking up to in the U.S., except ours is even more blatant. Papua New Guinea is one of the most resource-rich nations on Earth. We have: ✅ Massive gold, copper, and nickel deposits ✅ Major oil and LNG/natural gas projects that drive much of the economy ✅ Strong agricultural exports including: ▶️ Coffee ▶️ Cocoa ▶️ Palm oil ▶️ Copra ▶️ Rubber Large fisheries and forestry sectors And yet despite all of that wealth, since independence in 1975 - when Australia formally granted PNG independence - our politicians have repeatedly sold this nation out for personal greed. Nobody forced them at gunpoint. Nobody made them rob their own people. Nobody made them loot public funds. Independence was handed to us on a golden platter. And what did our leadership do? They turned around and pillaged the country for themselves. WE ARE OUR OWN WORST ENEMIES. And this same pattern exists all over: ~ Africa ~ The Middle East ~ Parts of Asia ~ Latin America Too many nations are crippled less by outsiders and more by their own corrupt elites, tribalism, greed, incompetence, and refusal to build functioning institutions. Then millions from these broken countries move to the West carrying a built-in victim mentality - blaming everyone else for problems they never fixed at home. And when you see crime, violence, rape, gang activity, and lawlessness emerge in parts of the West from certain migrant populations, many of these individuals come from places where: ☑️ corruption is normal ☑️ violence is common ☑️ law enforcement is weak ☑️ and accountability barely exists You cannot import people from dysfunctional societies in mass numbers and expect zero cultural consequences. Harsh truth: Until people start taking responsibility for their own nations, cultures, and leadership... nothing changes.

South Africa. Very likely related to BEE corruption. Control of municipal tenders, protected by BEE legislation. Anybody trying to apply corporate governance and standing up to fraud and corruption is getting eliminated. The ANC is quiet about this.

Who remembers Operation Murambatsvina? After the confiscation of the white owned farmlands millions were left homeless as they had lived on the farms all of their lives, for generations. As a result they ended up building makeshift homes amd tuckshops all over the major cities on any piece of vacant land that they could find. Operation Murambatsvina means "Clean out the trash" in the local Shona language. UN estimates that it directly affected ~700,000 people (loss of homes or livelihoods), with indirect effects on up to 2.4 million (nearly a fifth of Zimbabwe's population at the time). Hundreds of thousands were left homeless. Homes, businesses, and markets were bulldozed or burned. Entire communities were displaced. Mugabe told them to go home to their rural areas from whence they came. It was brutal and relentless. It came shortly after the March 2005 parliamentary elections, in which urban areas (strongholds of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change — MDC) had largely opposed Mugabe's party. Many viewed it as political retaliation against urban poor voters. A UN special envoy report (led by Anna Tibaijuka) strongly criticized the operation as causing "indifference to human suffering" and violating national/international laws. It described it as a military-style campaign with devastating humanitarian effects. The media said little, the South African government kept quiet. But if you want to know why our country is flooded with Zimbabweans, it was things like these that impoverished 2.4 million people overnight.

Elon Musk
Elon Musk@elonmusk·
South Africa won’t allow Starlink to be licensed, even though I was BORN THERE, simply because I am not Black! We were offered many times the opportunity to bribe our way to a license by pretending that a Black guy runs Starlink SA, but I have refused to do so on principle. Racism should not be rewarded no matter to which race it is applied. Shame on the racist politicians in South Africa. They should be shown no respect whatsoever anywhere in the world and shunned for being unashamedly RACISTS!
DogeDesigner@cb_doge

Why Elon Musk is RIGHT to fight South Africa’s racist rules blocking Starlink? Imagine this: Long ago, South Africa had very unfair laws called apartheid. They treated Black people badly and kept them from good jobs and money. When those bad laws ended, the country made new rules (called B-BBEE) to help Black people get a fair share of business. The idea was good – like a big helping hand. But now? For companies like Starlink to sell fast internet, they MUST give away 30% of their business to Black partners. Just because of skin color. Elon Musk was born in South Africa. He left as a teen to chase big dreams. Today, his company SpaceX wants to bring Starlink – super fast satellite internet – to South Africa. But the rules say no unless they give up part of the company. Elon said it right: “Starlink is not allowed because I’m not Black.” SpaceX promised to spend about $30 million (that’s 500 million rand!) to give FREE high-speed internet to 5,000 rural schools. That helps over 2.4 MILLION kids every year learn better, get jobs later, and have a brighter future. Real help for the people who need it most! Starlink already works in about 24 other African countries. Villages there now have internet for school, doctors, and business. South Africa’s villages are missing out because of these racist rules. Elon isn’t asking for special favors. He just wants fair play so Starlink can connect everyone fast. Internet = education, jobs, hope. Why hold back millions of kids over rules that pick by race and color?

@AmukelaniMoyani @CyrilRamaphosa To the ANC and its cronies: Rejecting corruption, decline and racist legislation, and demanding non-racial governance, is not racism or treason — it’s patriotism.

Put a white president in South Africa and suddenly white people will say everything is working and the country is doing well. But when you look at places like Western Cape, the reality is not that simple.

@Bustthelooters @StandardBankZA Is it just my experience and observation, or is Standardbank experiencing a substantial increase of fraud from its clients? And then, I also notice denial from the bank and walking away from responsibility? Please share.
