U.S. natural gas prices are down 28% year-to-date, while European natural gas price average is up 58%. U.S. gasoline prices are 32% lower than in China and almost 45% lower than the EU average. And we're eliminating the trade deficit through energy exports. "Energy Dominance" is not a slogan or an ideology; it is strategic logic. The whole world understood that when it was OPEC with the upper hand. Why can't they see it now? Source: Bloomberg

This would put it on a par with the old US Pershing II, China's DF-21, North Korea's Hwasong-7, or Iran's Shahab-3 medium to intermediate-range ballistic missiles (M/IRBMs). The DF-21 is capable of carrying a 600 kg (1,300 lb) warhead, either nuclear or high-explosive.

Note that a 204 km apogee would, if optimised for range, produce an approximate range of 1,000 to 1,500 km if the rocket is flown on a ballistic trajectory. Moscow is less than 500 km from the Ukrainian border, but this would be a perfect range to hit the Alabuga drone factory in Tatarstan - 1,200 km from Kharkiv.

Ukraine says its intelligence directorate carried out two rocket launches into space during wartime, including one reaching 204 kilometers above Earth. Officials also disclosed what they described as Europe’s first launch of a rocket carrier from a transport aircraft at 8,000 meters altitude, marking a rare aerospace development revealed during active combat operations. @astraiaintel Both Brexit and Trump prevailed in part because they attracted people who normally wouldn't vote

As long as the population is convinced to vote at all, the democratic center will basically always prevail. MAGA's prevalence, for instance, was enabled by the "few and obnoxious" radicals exploiting the space allowed to them by the unmotivated centrists.
Jay in Kyiv@JayinKyiv

More bad news for Putin, as voter turnout across Hungary continues to break records. With some locations as much as 4x higher than previous record. Countrywide totals, as of 1pm, already 54.1% of registered voters have voted. In comparison to previous years at 1pm: 2014: 34.3% 2018: 42.3% 2022: 40.0% 2026: 54.1%

Just a reminder: in 1982, when Great Britain was attacked by Argentina, starting the Falklands War, the United States did not come to their aid because the Falklands are not in the North Atlantic and the British did not bitch about it. In 1956, when the French and British attacked Egypt, causing the Suez Crisis, despite the fact that France and Great Britain are in NATO, the United States not only refused to assist, but went to the United Nations to condemn them for attacking Egypt. In 2019, when Turkey decided to attack Syria, the Trump administration had the Pentagon send out an official notice that they did not support the campaign and would not send troops. So kindly shut the fuck up, everyone in the White House.

Humankind will never evolve until: 1) We remove all borders, all countries are artificial 2) Eliminate religion of all forms, they are all manmade, time to grow up 3) Establish a one world government, working for the benefit of all people 4) Agree single global language

Dissapointing that the Artemis II mission did not make contact with the Moon creatures when they travelled around the dark side. An opportunity lost.

@thinkdefence Prob right but it's not just crude ... LNG, fertiliser ingredients, aluminium etc. a ship is 20k+ containers, that's a lot of lorries in the short term. Building rail and more pipelines increases resilience but create more potential chokepoints to defend as well as increased cost

Whatever happens in the Gulf, think it is a reasonable prediction that gulf states will increasingly arm themselves, harden infrastructure, and where at all possible, diversify routes to bypass the Strait of Hormuz. I know the current prevailing view is that Iran has won strategically, but that might be only in the medium term. Thus, India and China become even more exposed to strait closure risk, not from Iran, but the Gulf States and USA. Route diversion may be eye wateringly expensive and not 100% feasible, but there is no way Iran will be allowed this much leverage over the global economy again.

Is there anything more infuriating than an electronic form that requires you to fill in a box before proceeding but then, the moment you proceed, wipes the information and tells you that you can’t proceed without filling in the box?

Rigby feeds Starmer a line “I didn’t follow my instinct”. He fails to take it up, and woffles about due diligence. “Answers were given”. His instinct was that Mandy would be a political force and a trendy appointee. Why else be “hard on himself” now.
Beth Rigby@BethRigby

Been wanting to ask this for a while: ‘When I looked at vetting document, I didn’t get why you put him back into power. Surely your instinct was, I don't want this guy in govt? Are you angry at yourself that you maybe didn't follow your instinct?
