The narrative and thematic importance of Zenos is so obvious that it feels like being hit over the head with a brick, but people SOMEHOW manage to keep downplaying his importance to not only Endwalker, but FFXIVs entire overarching narrative.

Zenos is asking the WoL with no witness if they are truly selfless or a thrill-seeker. The universe is safe and he is the only threat

Idk if anyone else pointed this out, but Liadrin is shocked beyond words finding out elves and trolls share an origin.
In Legion SHE specifically personally gives us a quest that literally proves she and every elf held that as common knowledge.

Careless translation is just kind of stupid. Early on in FFXIV, they had altered some characters personalities from Japanese, only to run into problems when they had become major characters later down the line in the first expansion, because they lacked the necessary foresight.

@BrachyZoid My best guess is the aether alignment. Umbral is active, while Astral is stasis. Most Voidsent are always vocal, while Sin Eaters have their mind suppressed and act on instinct. This can be observed in the ShB role quests, as the Virtues basically act on instinct.

@Yuushiiron Without spoiling anything, Zero does something job-wise during 7.5 in a cutscene. I can’t help but think that with all the changes coming in 8.0 and that trailer showing Viper and Reaper that we might be able to do the same thing she does.

I don't think Zero is going to be the Reaper in the Evercold trailer. Instead, I think it'll still be us, just like in the teaser. Similar to Shadowbringers, the Reaper role might be used for "good" this time. I also think the people in the Fourth might be immortal?

@teyrns @AtelierBagur If you're looking at dungeons that you plan on doing daily, optimization is kinda the point. Everyone optimizes and min-maxes, but optimization is subjective.
People just look at optimizing based on time more than anything.

These should have their own endgame for players who want such a thing. If they add them to seasons, then they'd fix their rewards issues.
(And I say this as someone that used to grind fractals in GW2)

Not sure why this is blowing up all of a sudden, but if you actually read the quote, Isayama's "regret" is that he was too attached to Eren's character to portray him as a completely unsympathetic villain. In other words, he regrets that the ending he wrote went too EASY on Eren.

Dude ... it's been fifteen years. FIFTEEN. Give it a break. I published the ending that made the most sense, and you're going to see more of Eragon and Arya in future works, which—in any case—will be a much better version of their story.

@paolini Give the readers back what you stole when you ruined the ending of Book 4. Keep the distorted ending as the official timeline if you want, but make the ending you originally planned accessible to interested readers

@MrOwlstanding Not really. Bouncing between the two, there's a completely different bottleneck.
The story and endgame structure give a solid if narrower view in XIV.
GW2 has a broader appeal, but there comes a point where motivation dies. I say this as someone who did CMs and has legendaries.

It’s 2026, we are gonna be 6 expansions deep into FFXIV soon. Can we stop with the weird gatekeepy behavior if someone doesn’t want to play through 250 hours of story to be able to play some of the best MMO raid encounters ever made? Heaven forbid someone asks you a small lore question if they start getting interested in the story after starting the game 10 years late. Are we really gonna keep driving people away with this weird NIMBY ritual? Just use your social skills (lol) and answer the small question, suggest they start a story alt on their downtime, or direct them to a synopsis video on YouTube. Crying about “story skippers” this deep into a game’s development cycle is peak cringe. If they set up a skip to Dawntrail for new characters to jump into the new story arc I and many others feel like it would be beneficial for the game’s long term health. While the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc is great storytelling it’s also not a sacred cow for people to clutch pearls over. At the end of the day, it’s a game to be played. We’re all better than this and should start acting like it.
