Let’s talk about DoorDash Grandma 🧵 : what does it say about a society whose feel-good story is a 78 year old woman who has to work as a DoorDash driver to pay for her husband’s cancer treatment? This is the use case the White House is highlighting as a *positive* story. How and why is this something to celebrate?

I’m not a psychologist, but sometimes it seems like President Trump is kind of a narcissist.

@policytensor It seems plausible that, if a deal is reached, it will look a lot like the JCPOA.

Victor, allow me to answer this will the full Donald Trump effect in play (*ahem*): "Victor, you are so right, and many people are asking this very same question! It is a complete and total DISASTER. When I was your President, we had the lowest gas prices in history—we were down to $1.87 a gallon, remember that? We had the greatest economy ever. Now, the Radical Left is shipping our beautiful American Liquid Gold to other countries, probably China, while hard-working patriots like you pay $4, $5, sometimes much more at the pump! It’s terrible management. They hate American energy because of the Green New Scam. We had Energy Independence—nobody had ever seen anything like it. We have more liquid gold under our feet than anybody in the world, including Saudi Arabia and Russia, and they are just giving it away while you pay a fortune! We need to DRILL, BABY, DRILL, stop the madness, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Can someone please explain to me how we have all this extra oil to sell to other countries, but gas is over $4/gallon here as if there’s some sort of shortage.

Iran closed Hormuz. Islamabad talks collapsed. But don’t worry…the guy who wrote “Art of the Deal” is on it. Only taken 45 days and a naval blockade to get nowhere.

CENTCOM claims there have been no breaches of the naval blockade in the last 24 hours, but we can clearly see ships going through the gaps. It's dumb to destroy your credibility with easily proveable lies. So fucking stupid.

If Iran drags this out, the current war runs into a hard deadline. Under the War Powers Resolution, Trump can’t legally continue military operations in Iran past 60 days without Congress. But he may try to redefine the operation to reset the clock if push comes to shove.
TIME@TIME

Under the War Powers Act of 1973, presidents must terminate military operations after 60 days unless Congress has voted to declare war or passed legislation to authorize the use of force. time.com/article/2026/0…

@Sajwani Trump's pretty good at manipulating markets through rhetoric. Presumably, there's a shelf life to that effectiveness and if it bottoms out, it's likely to bottom out hard.

How can someone who consistently opposes direct financial relief for parents claim t...” 🌾 STRAW MAN Reduces his opponent's position to simply 'opposing financial relief for parents' without addressing the stated reasons for those votes—concerns about program structure, funding mechanisms, or alternative approaches to family support. @realgunnar9 @bonchieredstate "Not smart enough to read it" actually is "read the President's statement which was very different than CENTCOM's statement after". But sure, beat the hell out of the straw man all you'd like.

I think the false binary lies in assuming the "L" comes from 'letting Iran control the strait'. A full on military effort to not let Iran control the strait has the potential to be an "L" too. He's put himself in a constricted position where multiple moves he could make have big "L" potential

I'm shocked at how many people on here think Trump will take an overt 'L' and tank his legacy by letting Iran control the Strait because he thinks it's more important to try to limit losses in the midterms (as if letting Iran take the Strait would even accomplish that).

@TomiLahren Presumably, there's a steep downside to normalizing the sitting President of the United States rage posting on socials like an impulsive teenager. We know how dangerous and destructive it is, but act like it's fine that an 80 year old man with the nuclear codes is doing it.

10 years in, I don’t understand why people still freak out over President Trump’s social media posts. It’s not that deep. The self-righteous outcry is actually nauseating. Everyone is welcome to their opinion, but it feels more consequential to criticize someone’s actions, rather than the memes that they post. Personally, I couldn’t care less. The faux outrage actually gives me heartburn.

@jhouse2010 @bonchieredstate Yeah, that seems like a good reason for the President to say the exact opposite in the morning of what CENTCOM then says that night. Thanks for clarifying.
