@hashjenni If there is a prime time to fire generals it’s DURING a conflict. They show their shortcomings, poor performance and mismanagement. Not to mention they are soldiers, not civilian leaders. In the US civilians make policy, soldiers implement it.

You don't fire generals in the middle of war unless you're planning to do something they do not agree with.
