The USA 🇺🇸 has the most powerful military in the world but there is one military capability that is crucial to even think about controlling Greenland and defending it against adversaries like Russia or China. It’s heavy Icebreaker vessels. The US has 2 from the 70s. Russia in comparison has 40. The US has ordered heavy Icebreaker vessels from Finnland and the first one will probably delivered in 2028. So let’s be very clear. At the moment the U.S. doesn’t even has the slightest chance to protect Greenland without its Nordic European NATO allies. So maybe you go back and make your homework @POTUS @realDonaldTrump before you threaten anyone of the U.S. allies with tariffs.

@Next52431 @amuse @hecubian_devil Good point. I was referring to a typical homebuild where swap files arent really needed if modern SSD/NVMe are monetarily comparable in some sort of RAM scarcity situation. They should last multi TB of writes before they expire, unlike the old ones.

It’s crazy how it will literally be impossible to build a PC in about 12-18 months, and might never be possible again.

@amuse @hecubian_devil RAM isn't as important as it used to be now that solid state drives exist. SSD M.2 and NVMe scoop up most of the heavy work. Combine the latest CPUs with crazy core & thread counts, I would not be surprised to see RAM go the way of the dodo bird. But what do I know.

eBooks are the new crypto. Except you don’t need: • blind speculation • perfect timing • or luck You can publish an eBook and earn $3,000+ every month on autopilot. Here’s exactly how I do it (and how you can too): • ChatGPT + Find profitable niches • Claude → write the book & fact-check • Canva + Ideogram → create the cover • Amazon KDP → publish worldwide for free • Collect royalties Investment: Almost $0 Cash flow: Unlimited But obviously, there’s more nuance than this... That’s why I created a step-by-step guide breaking everything down in detail. If you want it, Like + comment “Asset” I’ll send it to you for free. (Must follow to receive.)

@it_unprofession The good news is the robots will shovel your driveway and plug in your neighbor's printer soon. No more back, or headaches.

I just finished shoveling my driveway. Took me 90 minutes. My back is killing me, and I have to drive to work now. My neighbor has a snowblower. He did his driveway in 10 minutes, then offered to do mine. I told him no thanks, I like the exercise. Real reason? If he does my driveway once, I owe him. Next thing you know, he's asking me to "take a quick look" at his computer because "it's running slow." I don't do free IT work. Not for family, not for neighbors, not for anyone. Last year, this same neighbor asked me to help him set up his printer. I told him I'm a "network architect" and I don't work with consumer hardware. He looked confused. I said, "It's like asking a heart surgeon to check your kid's scraped knee. Different skill set." He hasn't asked me for tech help since. So yeah, I'll shovel my own driveway. A sore back is temporary. Becoming the neighborhood Help Desk is forever. Boundaries aren't rude. They're strategic.

The foreign aid cuts overseen by Rubio have already resulted in hundreds of thousands of preventable deaths, and are projected to lead to millions more in the coming years. Lying about the vital programs he terminated will not absolve him of his culpability for this catastrophe.

Tried playing Call of Duty with my 12-yr-old and it was just getting shot in the head while I tried to figure out where the fuck I was. What’s a good game for an anti-video game guy to play with his son on Xbox? My experience includes Pong, Joust, and Blasto.

"Datacenters in space" make for a catchy narrative and an interesting demo, but the math simply doesn't work. When considering factors like launch cost, maintenance complexity, and the cost of high-bandwidth communications (latency included), there is no realistic set of economic and engineering assumptions under which orbiting datacenters become cost-competitive with simply building conventional nuclear-powered (or renewable energy-powered) datacenters on the ground. In fact we're off by 50-100x. Dramatic launch cost reductions still won't make it work. And of course if you invest a lot in specific lines of tech to make it work you then have to consider that the same can also be invested in better ground-based nuclear, bringing the cost of power down for everyone.

I asked FBI Operations Director Michael Glasheen a simple question: “Where in the United States does Antifa exist?” His reply: “We are building out the infrastructure right now.” It is clear that Antifa is not a formal, organized group with a defined structure or leadership. How can it be called a “top threat”?
