Maine is the most dead-serious anticorruption states in the country (keep at it, Montana, you'll get there). Maine passed publicly funded elections in 1996. Two years ago Mainers passed a ballot measure last year to cap donations to super PACs. Platner's anticorruption campaign would sing anywhere, but Mainers really, really hate big money in politics and they absoulutely know that they can do something about it.

I just introduced the No WAR Act, which prevents Congress from fast tracking war funding through a backdoor budget process. If Congress is going to spend money to put American troops in harm’s way for another foreign war for oil, then the American people deserve more than a process engineered to avoid real debate.

As published by the Board of Peace and the U.S. State Department, the humanitarian activity in the Gaza Strip is managed by the BoP, and this Hamas-led-flotilla is another provocation designed to divert attention from Hamas’s refusal to disarm - and to serve the PR interests of professional provocateurs. The Greek government agreed that the flotilla activists would be disembarked on its shores, and we thank it for that. Saif Abu Keshek, suspected of affiliation with a terrorist organization and Thiago Ávila suspected of illegal activity, will be brought to Israel for questioning. Israel will not allow the breach of the lawful naval blockade on Gaza.

Not a single ship and not a single Hamas supporter reached our territory, or even our territorial waters. They were turned back and will return to their countries of origin. They will continue to watch Gaza on YouTube. 2/2
