The 21z HRRR continues to put a supercell on the Indiana/Illinois border for the past several runs. Which would keep us out of the chaser convergence on fast moving cells. Not sure what to do.

Intriguing possibility tomorrow: The warm front if forecasted to move slightly slower than the Bunkers right mover -- ENE at 35-40 kts. Theoretically, a storm could track in the helicity-rich and positively buoyant air for hours. 🤔 Starting to buy the hype. haha

@HeyKevDad @MatthewCappucci I think that is exactly on point. Instability is lower -- but helicity is stronger. And you really don't need a lot of instability with very strong low-level shear for a tornado.

@WxGabe I'll be curious to see if that enhanced risk slides a little over into Indiana. @MatthewCappucci mentioned it earlier today.

@HeyKevDad Yeah... same. Think a long-track tornadic supercell isn't out of the question.

The latest HRRR puts some supercells just south of Lake County, Indiana on the 21z. @WeatherChickenx and I are trying to decide where to set up, and will be interested to see the morning runs.

Interestingly, I just saw a BRIGHT flash of lightning (that I would have assumed was overhead)… power lines next to me hissed for about 1.5-2 seconds… yet no thunder. Haven’t run that fast in ages.

The Storm Prediction Center has just upgraded tomorrow’s risk (April 2) across the Midwest to an Enhanced Risk and increased tornado probabilities. A few tornadoes are likely, some of which may be strong and fast-moving, along with damaging winds and large hail. If you live anywhere in the orange and yellow highlighted areas, please have multiple ways to receive watches and warnings!
