Oh wow. I've had a major issue with a state tax return that I've been trying to resolve for almost a year. I tried using a tax lawyer late last year, to no avail. Lots of $$$ down the drain. I figured out that he was probably just using AI anyways for his official appeals. I finally decided to use ChatGPT Pro and represent myself. I used it to re-write all the appeals, strengthen my case, and craft all interaction letters with DoR and relevant employers. Took another few months, but I've been officially informed today that my case has been resolved in my favor. No, this is not an April 1st joke. This is huge and a first concrete example for me of how AI can level the playing field for anyone who is facing obstacles when dealing with intransigent bureaucratic institutions and entities. AI can be a huge force multiplier for the "little guy" in particular - people who don't have the resources to hire expensive lawyers and do all the complicated research.

Mistakes happen. As a team, the important thing is to recognize it’s never an individuals’s fault — it’s the process, the culture, or the infra. In this case, there was a manual deploy step that should have been better automated. Our team has made a few improvements to the automation for next time, a couple more on the way.

The easiest way to make money fast from a superhuman artificial intelligence would be in the financial markets, almost by definition. So the first lab to develop one, if AGI is possible, would almost certainly keep it quiet for as long as they could. Beats charging for API access

Cold water was free. They sold you a £3,000 plunge barrel and a podcast episode about it. Silence was free. They sold you a meditation app with a premium tier. Animal fat was cheap. They sold you seed oils, then supplements to replace what the animal fat contained. Tallow was cheap. They sold you a seventeen-step skincare routine and a clinical trial proving your face needs ceramides. Meat was cheap. They are currently selling you the idea that you shouldn't eat it. The 20th century removed access to everything the body needs to function. The 21st century is selling it back, one subscription at a time. Your great-grandmother had none of the products. She had all of the things.
