@JasonSynaptic Also hurts ESI! I easily submit 6 NIH grants a year just on resubmissions alone. I've put in R03-R21- R01- and DP2 to give myself a shot. It's rough out here 😅

The NIH has decided that scientists can only submit 6 grants a year. OK. But you need a score that’s < 10% at least to get funded. Meaning, at best, 1 out of 10 grants you submit will have a chance (YMMV of course). 🫠

We need to talk about the effects of US science funding cuts on the lives of scientists and on the future of discovery & innovation in this country. I am proud to be joining a panel led by @BioRender ft. speakers from across disciplines, career stages, and roles in science (1/3)

We are now examining the role of interneurons in this circuit (SST!) and how repeated use impacts aged and AD mice.

Here, we examine the acute effects of Xanax on fear memory and activated neuronal ensembles. With a single injection, we found memory impairment in both males and females and alterations in hippocampal encoding and retrieval cell activation, specifically in females.
