Simon Says:
"Monique Ryan received approximately $749,000 in funding from Climate 200 for her successful 2022 election campaign in Kooyong. This funding was part of the broader financial backing from the group founded by Simon Holmes à Court to support "teal" independent candidates focusing on climate action.
Key details regarding Ryan's campaign funding:
Total Funding: She raised a total of $1.84 million, with Climate 200 accounting for roughly 40% of that amount.
Significance: She was one of the major beneficiaries of the nearly $6 million in funding distributed by Climate 200 to 19 candidates."

The FBT exemption has helped more than 100 000 Australians afford EVs. In a global energy crisis, we need to use all levers to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, including extending EV subsidies and cutting back on the diesel fuel tax credit scheme.
My piece in today’s Saturday Paper:
thesaturdaypaper.com.au/comment/topic/… via @SatPaper
Dr FrightBat demanding farmers lose the diesel tax credit even though their machinery doesn’t use or damage the roads.
I think we should strip Dr FrightBat of all her parliamentary subsidies that we pay for her.
These ugly Teals have no understanding of the real world and simply follow the orders of Simon Says and Climate200 lobby group.
Teals do Zero for their Constituents. No roads fixed. It’s just lobbying for renewable energy investors.
@Mon4Kooyong It’s clueless babble from ignorant MPs like Monique Ryan which has forced out fossil fuels leaving us incredibly vulnerable as we are seeing in real time. The Teal Party is just The Greens in sheep’s clothing.
@JacintaAllanMP You and your moron mentor, Chairman Dan, banned oil & gas exploration in Victoria. If you want to understand how fucked Australia is under Labor, look no further than this clueless socialist duo.
We’re making public transport free for a month to take pressure off the pump.
It won’t solve every problem, but it is an immediate step I can take to help Victorians right now.
@aaronsmith The thing is that she's so bad at her job. She has only ever served on 4 Senate Committees, 1 at a time.
Compare Larissa Waters, also party leader, also Senate whip for the same duration. She has served on 21 committees & has subbed on several others.
Leadership matters.
The nut jobs are out in force suggesting the govt reduce or eliminate to petrol excise for a period of time to reduce the retail price of petrol.
This would be one of the worst policy ideas doing the rounds.
It costs billions of dollars making it harder to get the budget to balance.
It stimulates demand adding to inflation at a time when inflation is too high.
It make the petrol shortage - to the extent there is one - even worse as people keep driving & don't look for alternatives.
It is a crap idea that should pick picked up carefully & dropped in the rubbish bin.

Just a small comparison note.
If Australia today had the same % rate of electrification of cars and trucking that China does today?
We would have 250 million litres less demand of fuel per month.
Thats nearly as much as Agriculture uses...
@RickFHarris@QuentinDempster@NadiaWa35758056@AngusTaylorMP@mattjcan I never share personal details on X. You have so it’s not inappropriate of me to ask that question. I have huge respect for tradies. They’re the backbone of Australia but I’ve found most (ex CFMEU diehards) believe in free enterprise and small government, not what we’ve got now.
@JCIV63@QuentinDempster@NadiaWa35758056@AngusTaylorMP@mattjcan Not sure my life story has anything to do with what we were just talking about but ok that's easy, I too was once unemployed, it's a lived experience.
Your bio is lacking, what's your story JCIV?
There it is folks: Pauline Hanson wants to privatise the ABC via the paid subscription model (regional radio excepted). She’s confirmed this with Chris Kenny ‘Sky After Dark’. Does sidekick Barnaby agree? And what about @AngusTaylorMP and @mattjcan?
@Lochness4000@Ben_Davison1 Not true but what is true is that the net zero agenda promoted aggressively by clueless Labor / Greens and the massive renewables roll out have driven electricity prices up by 75-100% and rendered ALL energy intensive industry in Australia uncompetitive including refining.
I hadn’t seen any closed petrol stations, any “long lines” or any cars out of fuel on the side of the road
There’s a lot of hyperbole & hate being thrown around but the reality is that most of Australia’s oil DOESN’T come through Hormuz & we have solid supply agreements
The Australian Government needs to do more to protect trans and non-binary Australians travelling to the US.
Right now, official advice is inadequate and lagging behind the reality people are facing.
@Lochness4000@Ben_Davison1 The Labor govt is complicit in this crisis. Their anti fossil fuels / pro renewables agenda is directly responsible for the disappearance of refineries over the past 10 years and the cuts in domestic production of oil. Your mate Dan Andrews banned drilling for oil & gas outright.
@Ben_Davison1 Isn’t it funny, as soon as a crisis comes along, not of the current government’s doing, it a case of ‘AND ALONG COMES PAULINE’ ready to capitalise on the situation politically.
@A2Bourne Oil was more expensive in the final months of the Morrison government than it is now
Being a panic merchant only encourages hoarding which will only drive up the price even more.
“The Malaysian government has indicated to me they regard their role as a reliable supplier of liquid fuel to Australia, extremely importantly, and that they see Australia as a key ally and friend,” he said.

Three hours in the car every day. The cost of petrol hurting the weekly budget. Less time with family.
This is a story a Victorian parent told us through our work from home survey.
And it's why we're protecting your right to work from home two days a week in law from September 1.
@RickFHarris@QuentinDempster@NadiaWa35758056@AngusTaylorMP@mattjcan Don’t know how a self employed tradie could lean to the left. Do you like working for the govt to take your money to redistribute it to non workers? If so, what level of taxation is too much in your opinion?
