This is a lot more entertaining than F1. Hope we can bring such a race to HK. I would add a rule that they must wear shoes that wear out at varying degrees in wet or dry weather, depending on their pace, and must be changed at strategic intervals.

@GBNEWS Totally made up 'outrage'. There is no such thing as a 'British costume' anyway. There's a few c19th regional ones, only worn for tourists now.

Under the Greens' 10:1 pay ratio policy, bosses could still pay themselves £1m a year by putting everyone else on £100k. Sounds fair enough to me.

@SandyofSuffolk True. Successor likely to be worse. But whoever replaces him will get a moderate recovery in opinion polls. Just for not being Starmer. Will last for 9-12 months. Need to get that out the way over the next year.

When Starmer goes, unless there's a general election, remember this: There's nobody any better in Labour to replace him.

🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: For the first time in history, The World Cup Final will have a halftime show. It will be organized by Chris Martin & Coldplay and could take up to 25 minutes.

@AaronWin33 @TouchlineX What? The half time show was invented to distract from the misery of watching American sports. Proper sports don’t need it.

Fuck me, I'm so bored of hearing about this Peter Mandelson fiasco We ALL know why normal vetting procedures weren't followed, but no-one seems willing to say it Two words: Donald Trump A harsh lesson learned, not to pander to criminals #BBCBreakfast #R4Today

@Allya10X HK had rule of law and (largely) free press. Wasn’t perfect. But significantly better than in mainland. And, like all British colonies, it was in a path to independence or self-rule. (And incidentally Cowperthwaite was better than any elected politician).

Hong Kong — 1977. A busy street. But where was the vote? For 155 years, governors were appointed by the Queen rather than elected by the people. They sold you a dream called DEMOCRACY. The truth was a DICTATORSHIP with a British accent. We remember. 🦋

Anyone else totally bored with everything Mandelson, apart from the Westminster bubble, and the right wing media who love this, with so much going on in the World let it drop. Starmer has done well with World events and let his finish that. #bbcbreakfast #skynews #GMB

Sir Keir Starmer will not resign over the Mandelson vetting scandal Asked by Sky News if he will consider his position Darren Jones, chief secretary to the PM, told Sky News: “No. And I think if you look at what’s going on in the world, not least in relation to the conflicts in the Middle East and what that’s doing for people’s living standards, energy bills, food prices… “You need a credible, reliable, strong Prime Minister to be able to take the country through those difficult challenges.”

@flyinglawyer73 @Steven_Swinford It was widely known that Mandelson was dodgy. Before appointing him to the most sensitive diplomatic role Starmer should have been extra careful. He told the House due process had been followed. Either he knowingly lied or was unacceptably careless. Either way must resign.

@Steven_Swinford Unless there is evidence that Starmer deliberately misled Parliament then this is not a resignation matter. Get serious ffs.
