@PutrinoLab As an emergency physician and Long Covid patient I feel both sides of this. Acute care in US is not built to serve those with chronic debilitating conditions. I’d love to be able to get people directly to rehab. Few can afford that out of pocket and insurance ties our hands.

@ALMannixMD We are emergency physicians practicing emergency medicine in an emergency department! Definitely grinds my gears when a student says they’re “going into ER.”

Also, I def made this mistake while in medical school/applying for residency. I wish I had mentorship to teach me the difference.

How does everyone feel about people describing the speciality of “Emergency Medicine” as “ER”. Eg. “I want to go into ER.” “What made you go into ER?” “I don’t like ER” It always bothers me, but I wonder if I’m just sensitive.
