The KJV is a good translation. I enjoy the old English and it’s how I memorized Psalm 23.
If you ever have short questions you don’t understand, DM the question. Or get a note book and and jot the questions down and meet with a pastor about them. It does take a while to get the big picture and the story.

@KevinPinball My fiancée’s father gifted me a leather bound KJV when I was baptized, so I decided to read it cover to cover. I may read other translations after. I already read the NIV (but I think I read too fast and there were tons of things I didn’t really understand).
