The Europeans are not dealing with “a man.” They are dealing with the United States of America. The United States needed the most innocuous kind of cooperation from them. They denied the United States that cooperation. The implied argument is that their obligations within our alliance depend on whether they like the guy we chose as our president. “Sure, we’re allies…if we approve of who you elected.” Nope. We are not going to forget, and we’re not going to forgive. I’m indifferent to their excuses or their rationalizations. The United States of America needed their help and not very much help. They turned us down. That changes everything. And they aren’t going to like how it changes everything.

The goal was to protect civilians so the operation was also in its nature defensive. Do you recognize that this is different from the Iran war today?

@QandO @Jiggser @KurtSchlichter Could you try dealing with the fact that the purpose of the intervention was to enforce a UN (not NATO) resolution as opposed to the US illegally attacking Iran now. The NATO-led coalition was acting on behalf of the UN. You have yet to explain how these cases are equal

@Jiggser @Knutson41 @KurtSchlichter I think you need a refresher. NATO willingly chose (by vote) to get involved offensively in the Libyan affair. It's all over the NATO website. You may want to take a look. Again the claim addressed was 'NATO is purely "defensive" in nature'.

As a European, I am not afraid that the USA will leave NATO. We already know that they do not have good intentions to Europe and that we, therefore, have to build our defence to be able to fight without the Americans. We are well on our way and it will happen a lot faster if the USA leaves NATO officially. Russia is too weak and small to be a long term threat to Europe. They simple can not match what we can produce. As long as we keep Ukraine from falling, Russia is also not a threat to us in the short term. So if the USA leaves NATO, it is simple for us: Keep Ukraine from falling at all costs and build up European defence and weapon production as fast as humanly possible. We can and we will do that and Europe will be absolutely fine and safe.

Look, I am all for criticising Riot when they fuck up (for instance the whole LTA experiment). But credit where credit is due. The decision to go back to LCS + CBLOL, and now to give the 2nd seed at Worlds (FINALLY after a decade) have been great. Seeds scale exponentially for region strength at Worlds. So this is a BIG deal. Even if ALL it does is give each team someone to debate meta ideas with and scrim before making the trip to NA for Worlds. That will make a massive difference.

The world is not historical, but a unique and grounded fantasy setting inspired by Holy Roman Empire. For us, low fantasy means the world stays grounded and believable. There will be no elves or dwarves, no hordes of orcs threatening kingdoms or wizards casting fireballs. The core of the game remains firmly historical in tone, focused on a medieval human society shaped by feudal hierarchy, power, political intrigue, war, faith, and the everyday hardships and joys of life in the Middle Ages. Fantasy elements do exist, but they are rare and subtle. Creatures like the wyvern and the giant snail are inspired by medieval manuscripts and folklore and are treated as unusual, rare parts of the natural world rather than common sights. Magic, where it exists at all, is indirect and ambiguous. Long rituals, superstition, divination, curses, and effects that may or may not even be real magic, rather than anything flashy or obvious. If a truly magical item exists, it is treated as a divine artifact or a once in a lifetime miracle, not an everyday tool. Overall, fantasy is there to add atmosphere, mystery, and tension, and to let the player experience the medieval world through the eyes of medieval people, who often believed the world to be far more magical than we do today, while still keeping the world feel real.

@Knutson41 @1348ExVoto I believe it is possible to pull off such a story, if the writer knows what he/she does and will remain neutral (no racism, forced messaging, etc.). For that, everyone needs to be treated equally, but nowadays writers cant seem to do that. They can only take sides.
