BREAKING: Greta Thunberg just eviscerated Trump for his comments about wiping out an entire civilization, dropping multiple F-bombs in the process. "The President of the United States just said that a whole civilization will die tonight and never to be brought back again and no one is reacting. This speaks for itself, what the f--k is anyone even doing at this point? We have normalized genocide, total annihilation of entire people, the systematic destruction of the biosphere which we are all depending on to survive, and that corrupt racist war criminals can act with complete impunity. But even though we have allowed far too much so far, it is not too late to say 'stop!' If we don’t, we shouldn’t f--king be able to call ourselves human"

@luo_yuehan Can’t see their face because their regime controls what they can wear. Any regime that uses children as human shields is not worthy of allegiance. They’re also committing an actual war crime.

These are the people Trump wants to wipe out today. Look closely at their faces—you might be seeing them for the last time. I would never forgive Americans for such a crime.

America is at a crossroads. It’s time for Donald Trump to be removed from the Presidency. Period. We need Republicans in Congress and the Cabinet to stand up and act immediately—human lives are on the line.

@MarioNawfal If, as you claim, they're raising these questions concerning bridges and power plants, then you may wish to disregard them because they haven't a clue about dual use infrastructure and "war crimes".

If you have never served, you have no idea. One distinct memory from Basic Training in Texas sears my mind to this day; the moment I learned why we leave no one behind. We had what you would call an assembly in the large gym on base. We were sat in our units but it was very informal, we were allowed to sit at ease and were frankly willing to go anywhere indoors to get out of the 100 degree Texas weather. Our presenters were introduced as American combat veterans, still serving on active duty who would share why when we left that room we would be one unit, a part of the American Warfighter and proud to be so. There are many reasons to volunteer for the US Military but these men promised our reasons for joining would recede and we would stand under one banner "to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic" a phrase I still recite from memory 20 + years after separating from the military. They went on to tell us their own first hand accounts of combat exploits, being wounded, seeing their fellow service members mown down under heavy fire and even blown to bits by land mines. Each tale ended with them sharing what was done to get wounded men; some of whom would later die, back to base, no matter what it took. By the end some of us were weeping because it was heroic, just, and inspiring. They said it was our duty to get everyone home, because no AMERICAN was ever to be left behind. Ever. Which meant that we could go wherever our orders demanded and rest easy that we would come home, even if it was our body that would be returned to our family members, with honor and respect under the flag of our country. We left that room as warfighters that day, knowing that no resource would be spared to get us home, and that we would spare no resource, time or energy of our own to make that happen for each other. Europeans don't understand because they have compulsory military service, lackluster military hardware and are quite limp wristed in their courage level. They are still willing to have us ride in and save their butts though.

It IS NOT a war crime to strike infrastructure used by enemy forces even power plants and bridges. It IS a federal crime to tell military members to disobey orders to conduct those strikes.

This line from Axios this morning is why I sometimes give up on inside-the-beltway journalism: “‘The president is the most bloodthirsty, like a mad dog,’ another U.S. official said.” US official? That could be Bernie Sanders. Or Melania. Or an intern at the Department of Agriculture. The press gives away anonymity like a good neighbor on Halloween gives up candy. This is a meaningless quote unless we are told who said it. It brings no value to good reporting.

As an Iranian, let me tell you what @POTUS is talking about here: In Iran, if you protest, you die. Not metaphorically. Snipers on rooftops shoot people in the head and chest. In January, the regime massacred thousands in the streets, many of them young people whose only crime was demanding a normal life. When he says Iranians are telling the U.S. “please keep bombing” he’s describing a population so desperate to be free from a regime that murders them for protesting, that they’re willing to endure war if it means the system that has terrorized them for 47 years finally falls. You may not understand that. Most Westerners can’t. You’ve never lived in a country where your daughter can be shot in the face for not covering her hair. Where your son disappears into Evin Prison and you get a call to come pick up the body. Where the internet goes dark so the world can’t see the killing. That’s what “they have lived in a world that you know nothing about” means. Before the media turns this into “Trump wants to bomb civilians,” understand: the Iranian people have been begging the world to see them for years. This is the first U.S. president to say it out loud.
Rapid Response 47@RapidResponse47

.@POTUS explains to a reporter that the Iranian people yearn for freedom: "We've had numerous intercepts, 'Please keep bombing' ... and these are people that are living where the bombs are exploding... they want freedom. They have lived in a world that you know nothing about."

To all the non-Iranians attacking me in the comments, thinking they know better than me: I WAS BORN IN A COUNTRY WHERE THE "GOVERNMENT" RAPES WOMEN AND GIRLS BEFORE HANGING THEM FOR "CRIMES AGAINST ALLAH" BECAUSE THEIR SICK RELIGION WANTS THEIR SOULS TO GO TO HELL. So shut up.

President Trump: "The Iranian people want to be free. They have lived in a world that you know nothing about." Thank you President Trump. You're 100% right. The vast majority of people have no idea what Iranians have lived through. I've never felt more seen in my entire life.

In January, officials went on state TV warning parents their children would be shot dead if they protested. Now, the same regime is calling on those parents to send their children to power plants to be used as human shields. In both cases, the Islamic Republic is a demonic, child-sacrificing cult where children are meant to be killed.
