@Muppetiers Iriola is the guy but they are to cowardly to do it Carrick will be sacked within 18 months he looked like he was going to cry against Leeds
English

Good to see the answer from Ornstein, much more in line with everything I’ve heard. Plenty of checks and inquiries to representatives have gone in on coaches. Quite a few resulting in being struck from the list. But there remains some coaches with eyes on them, and the performances and results over the next few weeks could change the landscape. Each game good or bad is a part of Carricks case for the job vs alternatives.
English

@7habith @utdreport A few actually. Do some basic research and you will see what Boro fans thought about Carrick at the end.
English

@LCB08070918 @utdreport Go on then, tell me how many Boro games did you watch?
English

David Ornstein on #mufc’s search for a permanent head coach:
“The way things are going, I don't see United picking the likes of Iraola, Glasner or Silva ahead of Carrick - although if they miss out on the Champions League, I assume they would all come into play. That's why we'll have to be a bit patient.
I hear United have completed all of their background work and no doubt spoken to representatives, although I'm told no interviews with candidates have taken place yet; if they had we would probably have heard whispers at the very least.
It's a huge call for United and their sporting director Jason Wilcox - he's leading the process and will make a recommendation to the board. As things stands, it might feel like Carrick is in pole position... however nothing has been decided and therefore it could, of course, end differently.” [@TheAthleticFC]

@7habith @utdreport Hes doing a decent job. Ole did better as an interim whilst playing European football aswell. Why judge him from his time at Boro? Because that's the experience he has had as a coach.
English

@LCB08070918 @utdreport What's to say the next hipster won't turn out like Amorim? What's to say the next big name won't end up like Mourinho?
Why judge Carrick by his Boro spell or hypothetical body of work when he's doing a good job AT UNITED already?
English

@7habith @utdreport I said I didn't say they are the answer but their body of work as coaches shows they are better than Carrick. Whats to say Carrick doesn't end up like Ole?
English

@LCB08070918 @utdreport What's the guarantee it doesn't turn out like Thomas Frank?
English

@7habith @utdreport Based on proven premier league experience. Put Carrick in charge of Fulham, Bournemouth or Palace and see what happens. He got sacked by Boro in the Championship.
English

🚨 JUST IN: United’s target when Carrick replaced Amorim was to qualify for next season’s Champions League. Carrick is on course to achieve that and, if he does, it’s a big tick in his box. Results so far and his popularity inside and outside the club put him in a very strong position, although Monday provided a reality check.
If they secure Champions League qualification, United are expected to finalise a shortlist including Carrick. Many feel there’s no way United can overlook him if he delivers, but questions remain about how well equipped he is for the full-time job with limited experience, juggling domestic and European football, and contributing to the summer transfer market.
Top options like Tuchel, Enrique and Ancelotti are largely unavailable. Tuchel has signed a new contract with England, Ancelotti will be at the World Cup, and Enrique is expected to sign a new contract at PSG. The club doesn’t see picking Iraola, Glasner or Silva ahead of Carrick - unless they miss out on the Champions League.
United have completed all background work and are in no rush. As things stand, Carrick is in pole position, but nothing has been decided yet.

@IFLTV @RPrograis Calling him British level is very disrespectful lol. He's clearly better than that.

@Keir_Starmer Why aren’t you deporting the Pakistani’s who raped, tortured, and in some cases even murdered British children along with all of those who knew about it then?
English

@Keir_Starmer How about the kids being trafficked for use by rich elites?

@SABCNews How dare a white european judge impose a sentence on an African man.

It is a disgrace that in 2026, Black South Africas can allow Julius Malema, a fighter for Black people to be dragged before systems that are still shaped by white power and historical injustice, in front of white judges. The blood spilled at the Sharpeville Massacre, the 27 stolen years of Nelson Mandela, and the brutal killing of Steve Biko mean nothing if you stand by while this happens, whether you agree with Malema or not. This is not just a trial; it is a message, a reminder meant to humiliate, to silence, and to tell Black people they are still powerless. Accepting it is a betrayal of the very struggle that was fought for your freedom!

@UnitedUpdates We have 2 teenage defenders yet they want more. Its a no brainer on a free.
English

🚨 NEW: Manchester United have been keeping tabs on Marcos Senesi, but are not currently planning to make a move, with the defender not fitting the club’s preferred age profile or type.
The 28-year-old is set to leave Bournemouth on a free transfer and has attracted interest from multiple Premier League clubs, but United are instead prioritising younger defensive targets. Nottingham Forest’s Murillo viewed as a more likely option as part of their rebuild. [@TheiPaperSport] #mufc

@__scottsaunders Carrick should have never been in the conversation for the permanent role. The consensus when he was appointed was that it was only until the end of the season. Fickle fans have fallen for the same thing as they did with Ole.
English

Wanted Amorim out but want Iraola in?
Here's a thought.
Semenyo said about Iraola's demands: "Run. Just run. Run yourself into the ground. I give props to everyone because it’s not easy to do, but we do it week in, week out."
Man Utd just got outrun by Leeds and aren't exactly front-foot under Carrick now. Amorim spoke about INTENSITY all the time but people only focused on the system and wanted him out.
I'm not saying Iraola won't work. But I'm saying don't expect miracles and you'll need your patience until Man Utd buy a whole new midfield, replace their full backs, and have squad depth to be able to cope.
New @tplmufc out now.
English

@shaunconnolly85 No there isnt. Sacked by a championship team and since the Arsenal game have scraped by in games. Not best in class at all.

If Manchester United continue to collect points, build team continuity, and add the necessary pieces this summer, there is every reason to be optimistic under this coaching team.

🚨 While Manchester United were always continuing to assess other candidates for the head coach role, despite Michael Carrick’s positive impact, that process has GATHERED PACE in recent days, with an acknowledgment among the hierarchy that they cannot get the next appointment wrong.
United are still assessing candidates including Luis Enrique, Julian Nagelsmann, Unai Emery and Oliver Glasner. Andoni Iraola is also under consideration, although he is the favourite to take over at Athletic Bilbao.
