Democracy is when 51% vote to strip away political representation from the 49%, keeping the latter in a perpetual state of servitude to the former with no power to change it. Which is why the distinction between democracy and republic is not merely pedantic.

Tonight, I see no off-ramp to an eventual Civil War in America. You’re going to use a 51% victory to redraw districts 10-1? This is the type of hilariously corrupt shit that leaves people no choice.

49% of Virginians voted against a Democrat redistricting plan tonight. 49% of the state will soon have only 9% of the state's representation in Congress.

Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene🇺🇸
Virginia just voted to redraw House district lines taking their state from 6D-5R to 10D-1R, eliminating 4 Republican seats just by redrawing the map. A once red state is turning into one of the bluest states because people don’t want to support Republicans now. Trump betraying the America First wing of MAGA is going to have devastating consequences in the midterms. I’ve been warning of this all along. No more foreign wars and regime change (he started war in Iran), lowering inflation and cost of living (his war is increasing inflation and gas and diesel and it’s just starting), release the Epstein files (he fought it and called it a hoax) are some of the top issues that has caused a revolt on the right and a mass exodus of America First Trump voters. Add on the betrayals to the MAHA wing and it gets even worse. But it’s not just Trump, it’s the Republicans in the House and Senate too. They love the donations and the parties and praise they get from the big donors and lobbyists representing the big corporations. There wont be accountability. They will not drain the swamp. And Trump is not your retribution. It’s a tough pill to swallow, but open your eyes and look at the facts and take note of their actions. Stop lapping up their meaningless words. Our loved military is once again fighting in the Middle East, your money is paying for Israel’s war, and once again people will suffer and die.

"I used to be a bitcoiner. The transition to a new store of value only happens once every 3,000 years. That's the main prize -- just focus on that. But [security] is the criteria that ultimately convinced me to flip from Bitcoin to ETH." "I have a higher degree of certainty that Ethereum will be around longer [than Bitcoin]. The reason for that is because Bitcoin relies on proof-of-work, which is less efficient than proof-of-stake and doesn't scale with the value of the network. And as the block subsidy of Bitcoin halves every four years, it is increasingly becoming more and more reliant on transaction fees to fund the security budget paid to miners." "If you look at [Bitcoin's] security budget right now, about 0.6% of revenue to miners is transaction fees... The problem with that is if Bitcoin becomes 'digital gold', flips gold, and becomes a $30 trillion asset, but it only costs $10-20 billion to attack it, that's too asymmetric." "You want the security budget to scale with the market cap, similar to how countries spend a % of their GDP on defense. The more valuable something is, the more you need to spend to protect it." "Ethereum, with the Merge, migrated to proof-of-stake, which is fundamentally more secure because it's less reliant on transaction fees and it scales with the value of the network. If 1/3rd of ETH is staked and then you need 1/3rd of those ETH to censor the network, you're looking at roughly 10% of the total market cap as the cost to attack the network." "So if Ethereum flips Bitcoin and gold and becomes a $30 trillion asset, it'll cost ~$3 trillion to attack the Ethereum network versus Bitcoin at like $10 billion." "The other aspect here is that as AI hyperscalers invest more and more in AI, proof-of-work becomes increasingly vulnerable because the cost to attack the Bitcoin network is starting to look close to the quarterly CapEx these hyperscalers are spending on their data centers." So let me get this straight: Iran not only refuses further negotiations, it doesn't even bother to show up, is keeping the Strait of Hormuz blocked -- and Donald Trump, after all the bravado, threats of extermination, and chest-thumping, just extends the truce, does nothing, and waits for the regime to “submit their proposal”? If that’s not a humiliating fiasco and a display of complete weakness, I don’t know what is.

For those who don't believe Chris Murphy's "awesome" tweet was sarcastic -- despite how obvious it was from the start that it was sarcastic -- what's the claim now? Murphy woke up yesterday and decided to publicly and explicitly root for Iran in the war because, despite decades in American politics, he didn't realize that cheering America's enemy in a war would create a backlash? But then, to his surprise, he saw that rooting against America in a war does actually create a backlash for an American politics, so now -- in order to get out of it -- he's denying his own beliefs and is just pretending he was sarcastically mocking the failure of the war? I know that sarcasm isn't always immediately visible, especially for those whose records you don't know (Murphy is a long-time interventionist and has been bashing Trump for being too lenient with Tehran). But there's no reason to sacrifice your intellectual honesty at the altar of dumb partisanship. Even if Chris Murphy were secretly rooting for Iran, he would know better than to publicly start cheering for them in a war This isn't even a close question. Just use your brains and focus on something real.
Fox News@FoxNews

JUST IN: Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy doesn't say he has any regrets after furious backlash to his X post calling reports of Iranian ships slipping past the U.S. naval blockade "awesome." "I guess I just have to be more careful about sarcasm on Twitter," Murphy exclusively told FOX News.

POTUS is laying out two courses of action—a negotiated settlement, or a major escalation. There is a third option, and he should take it: recognize there is no way to force a positive outcome and simply leave. The region is not ours to fix. President Reagan chose this path in Lebanon in ‘84, withdrawing U.S. forces after the Beirut barracks bombing once it became clear the mission’s stabilization goals could not be met, effectively ending direct American military involvement and avoiding a deeper quagmire and long-term entrenchment in the region. A negotiated settlement is unlikely to work or be taken seriously by the Iranians unless we make concessions on the enrichment issue. As we saw yesterday in the SOH, the IRGC is empowered to act without the consent of the civilian leadership, so it’s likely they won’t honor any deal reached. A major escalation will lead to a very destructive outcome for Iran, the region, and eventually the U.S. If POTUS chooses brute force and targets civilian infrastructure, we will create another generation of radicalized Iranians who will rally around the regime and escalate the war by any means possible. If POTUS opts to strike the civilian infrastructure, declare victory, and then leave, we will only further erode our standing in the world, the petrodollar, and eventually our status as the world’s reserve currency holder. We need to get out now. Don’t double down on failure. Avoid the sunken cost trap, leave now, and put America’s interests first.

First observation: there will be no deal. The ceasefire will end & the war will re-commence. Second observation: the US has been flooding the Theater with reinforcements, resupplies & performing maintenance on air assets non-stop, & re-arming warships. The force is ready & its larger than its ever been. Third observation: every key player left in the regime surfaced from their hide holes & safe houses during this ceasefire. The regime ‘negotiation’ team sent to stall America. The IRGC thugs who showed up in Islamabad to stop the Iranian Regime delegation from making any deals. The midlevel staffers going between the IRGC thug leadership & the IRGC cannon fodder still shooting at ships. All of them broke cover & came back up on the grid. From that point on, they were visible to the human intelligence networks watching them, the persistent ISR assets watching 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without pause— spy satellites, stealth & non stealth drones, manned reconnaissance aircraft. From the moment this ceasefire started, everyone who is a key player in Iran’s continued resistance came back on the grid & have been surveilled ever since. The intelligence mosaic is fully fleshed out & these targets are being tracked in real time, and the strike plans created with the help of AI are already set & planned. When the ceasefire ends, the strikes will be begin with such rapid speed, & precision it will be much more savage & fearsome than the first round. Fourth observation: Iran received drones, SAM missile systems & radars & intelligence from China during this ceasefire & this is still ongoing. This is what’s driving the remnants of the IRGC to continue the war. They do not fully comprehend what is set to take place, or how completely unable to counter it or survive it they are. That’s partly due to history, partly due to institutional arrogance of IRGC, & partly & most importantly because China & Russia simply do not understand our full capabilities— in terms of intelligence collection, planning, speed we can act on those things, & how good our situational awareness of the battlefield is. That last one is the key: the disconnect— how clear & complete our granular picture all the way up to the grand strategic picture is, compared to how blinded & how fragmented the situational awareness of the Iranians is. That last part is what really, really scares Russia & China— the vast gap in cognitive capabilities & situational awareness capabilites between the US & them scares them because its a gap they cant bridge, & beyond that the speed we can act on that clear picture is something they cant match. This war is going to restart after the ceasefire ends, & all hell is going to break loose— & the ferocity of what comes next is going to genuinely surprise the IRGC fanatics driving events in this direction.
