Happy to share our @MDAndersonNews newly published paper about #lobular_breast_cancer in the European Journal of Cancer Our study looked at the prognostic value of LCIS (Lobular Carcinoma In Situ), a facultative precursor of #ILC, when found at the time of diagnosis of #ILC 3 Key points from the study: 1️⃣ LCIS co-occurs with ipsilateral #ILC in 45% of the cases at the time of diagnosis 2️⃣ Pure #ILC tend to be associated with higher stages at diagnosis compared to ILC+LCIS 3️⃣ Absence of LCIS at the time of diagnosis of #ILC is a poor prognostic factor IMO (In accordance with our #ILC pathologist @LP_Middleton) 👉🏻 All pathology reports should indicate whether LCIS is present or absent when reporting a diagnosis of #ILC #EndCancer #bcsm #lobmob @LobularBCA @LobularBCUK @LobularIreland @elbcc @lobbccanada @drmediget @DrDebuTripathy Link 👉🏻 rb.gy/i5mpn
